Whilst collecting IM frames, I didn't really focus much on the non-movie frames, as there were so many.
IM frames and all custom lenses just about complete, I suppose it's just logical natural progression as a collector to be drawn into wanting more!!
Gotmeth366 said it best in the video "there's always more to be found, you can never really stop collecting sunglasses"...
...How true, but I found it's best your wallet isn't in the room listening!!
I never imagined early on, that storing and wearing them all in adequate rotation, would become a problem in itself!!
Compared to 39 frames in the IM collection (inc. safety eyewear/goggles), I reckon there are easily at least 150 to 200 (and still always rising!!
) "non-movie" frames, of which many, have the same added complication as the IM frames of being discontinued and having custom lenses...enough, thankfully, to proudly keep this thread going strong for a very long time!!So no chance of respite any time soon in the wallet dept.

In the last day I've ordered the Carrera Champions (although with red frames), the Carrera 180 F-S and just now the Prada PR50VS.

Maybe you can tell her that with stratospheric ozone depletion and increased cell damaging ultraviolet radiation from the sun, it's of upmost importance to take steps to look after one's eye health and to take one's eye protection seriously....yep, it didn't work for me either, she just gave me "the look", closely followed by "really??".

After seeing these new shots kindly provided by Jaymig926...
...decided today as a laugh, to make my own RDJ necklace thingy (which he has many of and seems to wear a lot) from a round polished stone, 2 gold colored washers (1 each side) and an old shoe lace!! Could be better if I had the proper materials!!
I had a go at getting close to this trilby hat too...
...but it's not quite finished, as my hot glue gun packed in before I could finish attaching my custom headband all the way around...
Also, I bought some Oliver Peoples XXV's, because I really liked the "3 pairs for 1" aspect to them, as he seems to wear them a lot, with different lenses...
Light grey (could maybe do with being a tad bit lighter)...
Light brown (also tried a light peach too, but not too impressed with them! - The color needs to be in between the two, like a more "rusty" orange/brown)...
Light blue gradient. These had such a slight blue tint, it was initially quite hard to find a decent match...

So I bought some classic folding Persol 714's and after using some mild heat with careful and precise brute force, removed the tight fitting glass lenses...

RDJ's Persol's however, seem to look a lot more like the 714 "VM", a thinner frame version of the classic 714...

Anyway, my blue gradients were very slightly a bit too blue anyway, so with it not being the exact frame either, super accuracy didn't seem to really matter at that point!!!
I suppose then, they are somewhere between RDJ and Steve McQueen

HUGE THANK YOU to Mike (gotmeth366) for the amazing gift for my BIRTHDAY today! A pair of extremely difficult to find (long since discontinued) Persol 2430s sunglasses!!! I’ve been searching for these for months!
I did my best to TRY to buy these from Mike 3 months or so ago and he wouldn’t sell them (believe me, I offered him a $$$ PRICE too!).
Then, earlier this week, knowing that my birthday was on the 5th, a package arrived and inside the box was a cool MCU pin, a fantastic 4 slot sunglasses travel case, and these special glasses! To say I was blown away would be a vast understatement. I’m VERY seldom speechless and at a loss for words, but I definitely was.
I know these glasses were special to Mike and I can promise you they are special to me now as well. So much so that I’m not sure I’m going to get SA lens now.
So, again thank you Mike.! Your generosity is truly appreciated my friend. Thank you.

I'm a martial artist, 4th dan koryu karate, hence the "Naihanchi" name. I've viewed and participated in a few martial arts forums over the years and they always, without exception go the same way - which is online arguing fuelled by arrogance, jealousy and ego.

Sincere apologies in advance for being quite a bit off topic, but during lockdown I'd been binge watching nearly all of the most popular box sets and have moved on to Narcos & Narcos Mexico lately.
Some rather awesome pairs of sunglasses feature throughout, but one pair in particular caught my eye, worn by Diego Luna (also known for Star Wars Rogue One)...
Apparently, after a bit looking around, it seems that they might be either rare vintage 1960's Marwitz Optima or 1970's Solex H503.
The Marwitz seem to have a thinner frame than the Solex, as the light seems to catch the frames differently...
Whilst looking for some, found out that a pair of Solex H503 went for a whopping $20,000 fairly recently in 2018, which really grabbed my attention and just got me even more interested to dig a bit further!!
Sadly, still can't find any (not that spending $20,000 was ever likely a thing!!), but found these on Amazon and they arrived rather late on today...
(There's a short little video on the Amazon listing too!!).
Used the 20% off coupon offered on the listing and it did work!! + used the Amazon Prime 30 day free trial for free shipping!!
For seemingly would be replicas, they bear an excellent resemblance and for the price, the quality is not at all bad...
Perfect, if you can pull off that "Cartel kingpin don't mess with me" look!!
(Incidentally, also spotted the same whiskey glass from Avengers on Narcos there too!)
Who knows, in years to come, it couldn't really be ruled out or that unlikely that the rare Stark/RDJ frames may too, sell for mega bucks at auctions!!

BondtoStark, just an update on new info. on the BARF shirt...
As a close match to whatever brand/style the actual shirt is, mine is a Pierre Cardin pique henley short sleeve polo t-shirt in black...
Took a while to find again, even just an image of the shirt, but took the brave step of switching to bing from google and I found it here in an old Amazon listing...
I bought the black a while ago now, from ebay, but found this image today and I suppose it has a high probability of being the same shirt and it's navy blue!!
Looks like there was a dark navy Pierre Cardin available.
It must be my eyes or the scene lighting, but I can just see black!!
Even in the corridor scene, which admittedly the lighting is quite dark, it looks black, even with the color right up in the 2nd pic...(or is there a tiny bit of blue in there somewhere??

Well, if it is that blue shirt in the BARF scene, then my shirt has now become just really, really, really dark blue then!! Lol

So with that middle picture, kinda confirms it's the shirt from Civil War!! - and phew, it does appear to be black after all!! (Just like his eye).
Actually, now this pic confirms it's a short sleeve, it does look really close to the Pierre Cardin. Lol
