You know what, I had the exact same intuition about the Basel from the moment I saw his IG video. But when getting reference pictures to answer Gio's question, I got stuck and prefered not to say anything. First I felt like the Basel were flatter on the top than the ones he wears but that's most likely due to the angle or lighting.Gio,

There's not a great deal of images out there for reference, but the "bump" on the nose bridge and that metal temple detail does seem to match up...

In one of the RDJ images, you can just make out the "groove" detail in the metal.
It's fairly well known that he has worn them before here...

The 1001/33 seems to have 3 lines of gold in the metal temple detail though.
At a guess, with the limited quality images, I'd say then, they could be Basel OV5178-S 57□17 140 in Cocobolo 1003/N9 with what look like mild "prescription" clear lenses. The color of the metal temple detail seems to match up to the 1003/N9 color the most.

If the images were just a bit clearer, I would be a bit more certain! But they do look dark brown - maybe it's a discontinued dark havana colorway.
Perhaps there is another OP model really similar (kinda like how the Daddy B's are to the Dbs), but I can't find any.
I think I've spent enough of my Sunday on these!! Lol
But what really bothered me were the temples, while they're quite straight on the Basel, RDJ's have this angular change of width:
What do you guys think ? Can it be a variant of the Basel, an old version or even a different model ? I couldn't really find any clue, maybe one of you can

You're right man!! The end of the arm in your side shot pic doesn't match up to the Basel's.
That grooved metal temple detail is on other OP models too, including the much thinner frame Maceo's. Obviously, they aren't the Maceo's, but they highlight that there must be more similar OP frames out there, somewhere!

So we're looking for a model shape that possibly lies somewhere between the Maceo's/Basel's, but a lot closer to the Basel's.
I can't find any pics as yet of "close" models. Perhaps they are vintage or prototype Basel's, or maybe even a "J" version?

My one quarantine project finally got off the ground. I took a swiffer wet pad box and added a block of foam, cut some slots and made a lens holder. I'm not super crafty of a guy but I think I did ok haha

The Limited edition numbered "Hot Rod Red" is going to be revamped as a more metalic candy apple red vs matte and I think those numbered matte red is going into retirement. New color schemes for LCs and uh.... the new revamped BS glasses. They're bringing back the old LCs aaaaand I think that's it. Unless someone has any other leads?

Is the hot rod red a version of the All Ins? Are the new British Steel still coming out? Are the red London Calling duplicates of the Iron Man 2 versions or just new red frames that are slightly different?

Yes the HRR All Ins will replace the "Armored" ones. The armored were a matte red.
The New BS frames will come out.
The Red Havanas could be slightly different. Who knows there's like 10 versions of the All In.
