Can't find Tony Stark's sunglasses from Iron Man 3

when opticians reopen here I’ll have to think about some purple shade for the lenses
If mine turn out to have the right lenses, I'll post some pics with the lenses out, on a white background as a color reference for your optician.;)

I'm really hoping they are the right color, even though they look darker when worn...

Unworn, they really seem to resemble the color in this shot....

well it would be appreciated and interesting like it always happens with your posts, so thank you!

let me just say that in general I'm not always looking to match the perfect color from rdj (or any other actor in any other movie) frames if I like something a bit different, for example my red matsudas are a bit darker compared to his, and I think in this case we can say that 100% resemblance is less important than usual :D

maybe if next easter I'll decide to dress up with a bunny costume, well, in that case...

Here's the use of letter codes on Japanese vintage pairs

Well kids, I painted a pair of my Robert Marc sunglasses I got for a few bucks to see what would happen. I tried to get them as close to the movie frame (burgundy copper, whatever it is). I think it's kinda too red/purple. Probably going to strip the paint this weekend and redo them

Wow!! Great work man! (y) (y)

And tonight's prestigious award for "having the steely nerves to modify a rare frame goes to"....!!:D

Nice modded 755's, you gonna do your 719's??

Hey so I was watching the cable guy the other night and noticed that Ben stiller might be wearing the original roy tower concept 2s in his court room cameo. Maybe someone can confirm but I thought it was interesting enough to share. I know the picture quality is not so good but it's being watched on an old 90s box set from within the movie itself.
I've found (I think) a better image of Ben in the court scene....

If this image is even from the Cable Guy movie, the frames look all gold but "semi rimless", perhaps even vintage...

They really do look so similar though in shape to the Concept 2's, especially the angled top corners of the frame shape.

Great interesting post though(y), at first glance I actually thought they were Concept 2's as well!:D

Thanks!!! Like I said, it's a little too burgundy so I think I'll try it with a different color. Oh hell no, as much as I'm not a fan of my gold 719s, they're staying the way they are because even though they're not screen accurate,at least I have a placeholder until I find whatever one is screen accurate.

Try the Krylon FUSION ALL-IN-ONE Gloss Oil Rubbed Bronze Metallic Spray Paint; it looks the closest to the real finish, imo

Just scored some mega cheap 2nd hand, but in seriously brand new condition, boxed OP 5206-S Dbs in brown (1238/9P).
Though just for accuracy:cool: , I had to whip out the dark gradient brown stock lenses and put some really light brown lenses that I made today, straight in them...

Now, I could buy the checked shirt, to complete the whole "overly keen new History Teacher on his first day" look!!

From what I've read, the Dbs are supposed to partner the best selling and more rounded shape (ladies) Daddy B's, the Dbs having a slightly more square (mens) lens shape.
Although both seem to be stated as being unisex.

While looking for some OP Dbs, I noticed there is a Dbs and DBS-J model, so wondered what the difference is.
In the specs. the temple length is different:

Dbs 56□18 145
DBS-J 56□18 140

Does anyone know why there are 2 models that are virtually identical??

So initially, it looks like there may be 2 very subtle visual differences on the nose bridge and the temple, but I'm not 100% certain, as it may just be the angle of the images...

As far as I know the J models for the OP range are for the Japanese market and tailored more to Asian facial structures. A large complaint in the Asian market is that western sunglasses don’t fit very well for a large majority of the population. That’s what I’ve heard anyway and it would explain the slight differences in shape especially that they are in in the areas that would change the fitment towards what the Asian market wants.

Thanks Wolf!!
Your knowledge and insight as always, is amazing - that certainly explains it!!

I couldn't fathom why they would make them so alike, but it does make perfect sense!

Was also getting worried I'd bought the wrong model, but looking at the shorter protruding temples on the RDJ images, I think they are the Dbs...phew!!

Cheers man;)
