Can't find Tony Stark's sunglasses from Iron Man 3

Here's a couple quick pics, original pair on top, re-issue on bottom. And the special pouch that Sunglass Garage included. If I'm being honest, I kind of like the re-issued pair a little more.

yep, there were 2 versions. The first pair (your second photo) was the pair as worn in the movie, a solid checker pattern. The second pair (first photo) was the re-issue that Sunglass Garage put out, there is a translucent quality to the front of the frame and there are the VZ logo throughout the checker pattern. The screen accurate pair also has the dark parts near the front of the temples.
Thanks so basically those are both legit pairs! Good to know.

where did you get them?
Ebay about 5 years ago. They don't come up for sale very often, I do wonder how many pairs are out there and how many were actually produced. Info. online is rather sketchy, so there seems no way of knowing all of the colorways/combinations. I don't even know the original retail price for the 719 model.
The most readily available movie screencap shows the lenses to look almost orange, yet when you watch the film, especially in the scene outside, they look burgundy or plum red....the lighting (again!)

I agree, I suppose its "case in point" that absolute screen accuracy is not always the "be all and end all".
I prefer my re-issues too, IMO they are a more softer, subdued and wearable version than the "full on checks" that are probably more at home in a skate park! Lol ...(still awesome in a display cabinet though!).

So one is a legit movie pair the other is slightly different. Interesting and why do you prefer the reissue better??

yea same reasons that UV400 mentioned, I feel like the original ones are a little more snug and I'm not entirely certain but the shape might be a little different, they definitely don't feel like the same pair of sunglasses, and I kind of like the translucent quality of them on the front.

Guys, someone is selling the glasses rdj wears in endgame online, but they’re labelled as ‘Tom Ford stacy’! So I googled tom Ford Stacy and they look exactly like the ‘Johnson’ pair we’ve all been looking at...anyone know the difference???

The lense shape is more round on the Stacy. Stark definitely wears the Johnson

Not exactly, the Stacy model has round shape in the lower section.

I've compared. It doesn't look like the Soloist 4. The frames on Banner looks thinner than on the Soloist 4. Does anyone know?

So I know what the frames are but they're going to be a pain in the ass to find in the same color. They're World of Frames model 001. They're a vintage frame from the 80's I believe. Another one to keep an eye out for is VE's "Chief" frames, they're exactly the same frames but just have a small silver detail on the temple. Those are a little easier to find because they came out at first in the 90's and had a reissue a few years back from the little info I could find. So either of them will take a while to find but luckily they're a very cheap frame (like $20 cheap). So you won't have to spend an arm and a leg like some of these lol

In addition to the Johnson's being a squarer aviator shape than the rounder Stacy's, the Johnson's are listed as mens frames and the Stacy's as womens frames.

I was texting with Jason tonight, like I thought originally, Hulk is wearing Aces High. The Initium video that was shared on social media said 7th Son, but there was a change

Thank you!!! ♥

Wolfshire how did you made this with your RayBan Outdoorsman II? Removing the top part but still leaving the two stuffs on the frame. Wanted to make mine look like Tony Stark too. Thanks in advance!

I just used a pair of small wire cutters right as the tab bends back and left a little extra that I cleaned up with a needle file and finished with some gloss black lacquer. It seems a lot to more intimidating than it actually is, plus I like the fit better now (which is probably why they did it on the film lmao). Hopefully that helps!
