Can't find Tony Stark's sunglasses from Iron Man 3

Thought I'd also share some bargain random Paul Smith frames that caught my eye and were a steal at all under £30 per frame, compared with the original £200+ mark RRP.

Again, from the Cutler & Gross website...

Paul Smith Belmont, the lenses are similar to the Oakley Holbrook "prism" fire red lenses and with the two-tone striped detail are reminiscent of the Police s1948 Civil War lenses...

Hopefully, they might all make red carpet appearances one day!! Lol.

I always liked those belmonts since they came out on the paul smith website last year (since as you say they look like the police civil war glasses, also the brown/red version) but I didn't get them because I couldn't find enough picture of how they look on face, in some stock images when folded they looked semi-flat while I like a bit more semi-curved lenses. but they look very nice

Yeah the PS Belmonts semi-rimless frame fronts are nigh on spirit level flat and straight across...

There is a miniscule curve on the lens, but it's hardly noticeable, in all honesty for all intents and purposes they just look flat.

At just 50□20 145 they are also a bit of a smaller fit than the 52□20 145 Police s1948, with the comparable lack of lens and frame height on the Belmonts being a more noticeable factor in the overall visual size.

thanks! and the red how does it feel when worn? good enough to wear in direct sunlight?

It's overcast here at the moment to test them out, but I would say that as they have very similar lenses to the Oakley Frogskin Lite 0463 (p.292) light orange to deep red (depending on the angle) with a mirror flash, they would be good in full sun.
As with the Frogskins the eyes aren't visible through the mirror flash though.

I think the Belmont's reverse semi-rimless design is a bit unique, with the top of the frame missing instead of the bottom.
This is normally only found on half-moon reading glasses, which are notorious for being worn half way down the nose by know-it-all older people, so that they can pull off that condescending look to full effect - We all know that look!!
My Dentist has them, nuff said!! Lol

Totally and completely unintentional, but the phrase that I used in my post, "nuff said", isn't a cockney UK phrase at all (I honestly thought it was!!)...Done a bit of quick googling out of curiosity and it turns out it was originally coined years ago in Marvel comics by none other than the great Stan Lee!!
I'm a sunglasses collector and not a comics dude, my apologies to the Marvel fanbase for not realising!!
What a great unintended and accidental tie in!!

Stan Lee...a Marvel legend..."Nuff said" !!!

I have another purchase that's not Glasses but still RDJ Iron Man3 Related. I found another suit jacket that I've been wanting to buy since I first laid eyes on it. Same as worn by RDJ in London during the IM3 premiere. I now have the 2 suit jackets (in my size of course) I wanted most out of all the ones I've seen him wear. I can't believe I have both London suits, the Tuxedo and this heavy cotton one. This blue is absolutely beautiful. This will look great with my purple lensed OP OMalleys thanks to IronMan616 here on the board! If you need lenses made you should hit em up!

My Adidas Y-3 Yohji Yamamoto arrived today from France...

The front and rear white leather sections have yellowed slightly and looks like it's not an easy fix.

20250414_122300.jpg

These white leather sections look like they have been coated in clear gloss lacquer to create separate "white gloss" details from the rest of the unlacquered white leather.
It is the gloss lacquer that has aged and yellowed and it has quite a hard gloss impenetrable finish, which prevents any attempt at the usual ageing white leather treatments and fixes.
The lacquer will need to be removed and either reapplied or be left off and have the white leather buffed up instead.

For anyone buying these, they have quite a pointed toe compared to regular hi-tops that take a bit of getting used to and also quite a narrow fit, which is apparent by just looking at width of the soles...

I was fortunate enough to snap these up at just €30!!

They are very cool!

My other OP Braverman 1003/53 arrived and for indoor wear, I decided to drop in some subtle peach/light tea lenses to compliment tonally with the lighter striations in the cocobolo frame. Style wise, I think these work better visually than the completely opaque dark brown glass stock lenses...

A trio of Braverman...

Still not sure whether or not to go with light red customs in the clear yet.

Another long-awaited find! At last, an oak Cortland! This pair is out of Japan, with lettering on the temples, and the darker oak color. No model number, this is a Cortland-J with color code OAKBL. Came with a light blue lens, lighter than the aqua stock lens we've seen before. 20250416_172634.jpg20250416_173458.jpg
