Can't find Tony Stark's sunglasses from Iron Man 3

I practiced a martial art called Kyudo.
Kyudo is really cool! There's a local shrine near me with a shajo at the back! Really cool! And I watch the Yabusame at the Meiji Jingu shrine every year on November 3rd too...Heki Ryu as well, armoured archery looked amazing when I saw them demo a few years back, very cool to see!

But yeah, back to eyewear....LOL..And apologies for the distraction!

It only takes one toxic person to kill a forum like this - I've seen it on Martial arts forums over the years with keyboard warriors and paper tigers who seem unable to grasp the concept of respect and general kindness.

Schlegel can thank Sake for his Rayford and Canal, Ironman616 can thank him for his Rayford & I can thank him for my Rayford and Soloist 4!
I can't speak for them but I'm incredibly grateful for his efforts in finding them, contacting me and sending them to me - frames I really wanted that I'm well aware I would probably never have found by myself!

Sake is a long established and valued member of this group and if some things get lost in translation that's your problem, not his.

If you can't show some basic respect then maybe you should refrain from commenting
I had asked very specific questions about which apps to possibly use? (Google,bing,poshmark,TRR.com,Ebay?) Where was purchase made? Stuff like that. Very, very easy to understand questions. Something that that can help help push people in this forum in the right direction in their searches. That's what we are here for to enjoy this Eyewear and help eachother out in our searches. I just didn't find his response helpful (or respectful).
"I found it after years of searching. It wasn't lost. I just happened to find two in a row. It's all thanks to my efforts over the years"

Yesterday I received my frames that Ironman616 helped provide custom lenses for! Very helpful and easy to communicate with! So helpful and much less expensive than my local lab! Thanks!!! This forum is mostly great!

Please treasure your friends. I am looking for the sunglasses of many people who have sent me direct mail. If I announce the location of the sunglasses in the main thread, it will be difficult for members who are waiting to find the Holy Grail to find them. There are many people who are looking at this site other than the member who posted. I wanted you to understand that in my reply. Please search with your precious friends. The thread has a long history, and it is very sad to see you express your disfellowshipping in words like you did.
「This forum is mostly great!」

Also, regarding the question of which app to use, I've checked every site, app, and browser I can find. In other words, I can't answer that question. It varies from Thailand to Russia. Please look at various past posts. Currently, most of the sunglasses listed are vintage items, so only current items are available for purchase. I take no responsibility whatsoever.

I have previously linked here items that my friends didn't want but were still in stock, so your comment is very unfortunate. Please don't try to accuse me of anything.

Furthermore, I started my collection much later than my predecessors. I generally do not disclose where I got my items, except when I found them on eBay. Linking items found on eBay to this thread is a violation of the terms of use. I am much worse at finding things than you guys, so it is taking a lot of time. Please understand. Since I haven't had UV400 lately, I will do my best to announce the confirmed sunglasses.

Ok.

Unrelated to glasses but still RDJ related, I was able to secure and purchase the same brand and make/piece double breasted "tuxedo" suit RDJ wore at the Iron Man 3 London premiere- in my size! This thing is nice. 100% tussah silk, (trousers are mix fabric) though I wouldnt pay (or even have funds for the original MSRP- $3K just for the jacket!). I put tuxedo in quotes because it does break a couple rules for a real tuxedo. Flaps for pockets and vent in the rear. I'm sure the people into fashion would appreciate it! Still need to stream it to get the wrinkles out.

I always assumed in the past that celebrities like him had custom suits made. Apparently not. They wear stuff off the rack as well. Just more expensive racks than most of us. I'm sure the brands just gift them to him in hopes they get worn.

Are you in the US?

Really the only thing to do is frequently check the sites where people sell vintage/used clothes.
Here that's Ebay, Poshmark, TheRealReal. In Japan Mercari seems to be used more than Ebay along with some native Japanese sites that are difficult to even search for anyone not fluent in Japanese. For some reason Ebay didn't catch on as much there.

Smaller sites like Depop, Grailed, Vinted sometimes pay off too. Sometimes a mom and pop vintage shop may turn up with something.

Persistence is the only secret. I have bookmarks set for my top targets so I don't have to type.

Soloist 4 arrived today.

Once again heartfelt thanks and gratitude to Sake for getting those sorted for me.

I've wanted the black version for so long and didn't really expect to ever get them. I'm sending them tomorrow for custom light blue lenses - they will look amazing!!

I have the Gucci hightops which are insanely nice.

I don't have the tuxedo jacket which is very nice indeed - that's a great find in the correct size.

Fantastic! I'm going to sound like a broken record but I really love these, the high water mark of the golden age of Oliver Peoples, IMO.

Here it is in brightened image. It's still new unworn. According to seller Apparently someone had purchased it in the past but thought it was used because of the texture that's built in the suit from the maker. If you zoom in on the London premiere pics you can see the black texturing.

Little off topic but of some interest to guys here...
Found a pair of Polaroid Cool-Ray n135. I'm in totally the wrong weather but Connery wore these, but in black, in Thunderball in the Bahamas. Curry &Paxton have remade these as the "Sean" as well, although at rather a higher quality (and price) level!20250211_140132.jpg

Oh NICE! Very good find!! What is the brand?

And I received after long searching, a NIB pair of Karen Walker Monumental "Fry". Should be copper lenses, but can't be too picky, I should have bought the ones I saw two years ago! The correct color will have tortoise arms, front is black on both.

I have the curry & paxton ones! also their michael cane remake. quality is good, I can confirm

I bought lenses from a lens manufacturer, but the transmittance was a little low. I'll enjoy them like this for a while and then change them. It's been a while since I've had fun hand-cutting lenses.

As you can see in the photo, the transmittance was lower than that of the 006 lens.
