Can't find Tony Stark's sunglasses from Iron Man 3

I bought a pair of clear Soloist 4 that I should be receiving tomorrow. I really wanted black but they seem too hard to find. In my mind they would look great in a transparent gray ( like my Aftons) or translucent black. Is dying them an option? Would it be blasphemous?
I don’t know, do you have a trusted optician that could do that? I can say that the clear soloist are among my favorites, good also for evenings

I haven't begun looking at who would be able to do it. I was thinking maybe rit dye can do the trick at home after practicing on some cheapo glasses.

Hey guys, I'm a little new here but want what most people in this forum are looking for... Tony Stark's glasses. In particular, I was looking at the two he wears in Endgame, of which I have uploaded pictures of. After doing some research and reading the last 5 pages of this forum, I was able to figure out he wears Mosley Tribes Bromley and Tom Ford Johnson/Stacy. However I am not able to find them anywhere online for sale, but when I scroll through this forum, I'm seeing people who own all the different colors for each of these models. So I was hoping someone would aid me in my search for these frames, and help me get myself something that I've been looking for a couple years now as a Christmas present. Thank you!

I'm afraid the best advice I can give you is to be patient and to save those searches in all the marketplaces/apps/second hand sites where you have an account. between those two, tom ford johnson were a lot easier to find, but I got them years ago, I don't know now. good luck!

I looks i ebay, poshmark, and therealreal.com .the tom ford johnson (not to be confused by the "stacy") are difficult to find in the Havana color. I have a couple but not in Havana yet, just black and Tortoiseshell. Havana comes with a green lens standard. You'd have to have custom lenses made.

The Bromleys are difficult to find as well. Which is why you can find "Initium 3000" and those are readily available online with a Google search. I prefer the Initiums over the bromleys since the both glasses are ridiculously large but the Initiums have slightly smaller lenses. I believe 60mm vs 62 or 63mm.

the green lenses in the dark havana version are a really strange shade of green, not the usual g15 we're used to. I kept them in the case when I switched to movie accurate light gradient, just in case. one thing that I found out a couple of years ago, tom ford johnson also come in matte blue, I randomly found them at an optician in india. they were very nice with me, it was fun. this is the part I prefer, when it comes to find rare glasses in unexpected places

The same goes for the Paul Smith Shawford, but the Bromley is not just one color, but a double layer of clear pearl acetate, so it looks great. The initium is just a replica, and a different design. The concept 2 is a masterpiece, but the bridge is completely different. All the resale models of the initium have lost their design shape.

Unfortunately, as an actual movie prop it's a bit weak.

One of my good friends has a pair of Bromleys. I never noticed clear pearl on it. Definitely not something 99 percent of the people out there will notice. I don't know anyone else personally that is as into Eyewear than I do there's literally no one i know that would notice it.

As far as initium go, what other models do they have that are not resale?

This thread is about movie props, so the topic is whether they are faithful to the movie, and whether they were actually used. If you don't notice the little details, you need to study more. The sunglasses chosen by the movie at the time are the best in the genre. Everything is the Holy Grail, and fakes are fakes. No personal feelings needed.

The TF Johnsons should be easier to find than the MT Bromleys. Especially in that color, someone SHOULD have an extra pair of the TF Johnsons on this forum but I have been looking for the Bromley for 5 years now and no one with extra frames will sell. Possibly if you have other rare stark frames to trade if they happen to need them. I search daily for years now and still have 8 Stark frames to go. It's a tough, greedy but informative community to be completely honest lol. Welcome! Everyone here is friendly exempt a select few! Goodluck brother

I dont think any of the glasses we have in this thread were actually used in the movies im unsure what you mean by that. I apologize if I offended you maybe something got lost in translation as English is my second language.

the comparison everyone (actually no one) was waiting for, bromley and jason’s initium movie version worn under the same light

I have to say something: of course I’m happy I managed to get a pair of mosley tribes after five years, but jason’s version is one of my favorite frames in my collection, I even wore them at my wedding (my wife didn’t want to get a divorce lawyer right after that, unexpectedly). I think that tint in the lenses is a bit darker than the movie ones, but that makes them the perfect tint for indoor/evenings, I like it so much that I made my optician copy that tint and put it in another tons of frames I already had, like for example the dark havana tom ford.

anyway, tl dr, here’s the comparison

Yes, that's right, and you can see that the shapes of these two sunglasses are completely different. Whether you like the Initium 3000 or not is a matter of preference. But the important thing is that Tony Stark wore Mosley Tribes. The shape of the Initium is quite different for a replica. I bought the Initium 3000 brand new, but I got rid of it soon after. Flat frames are the norm now, so I think the Initium was designed to be a little flatter to match that. If high curves become popular again in the future, the impression may change.

yes I think it is a bit less curved and -famously- 2 mm smaller. except for those things, I think it’s a good version of the movie frame, but as you say not a perfect copy. I like it though, that’s more about personal taste. I think I gave up about getting a perfect copy when it was announced that iniutim frame would be 60 mm instead of 62. I remember I was baffled at the time, but it helped to make me have different expectations.

Some members may make fun of me as an exception, but the search for the truth is the driving force behind this thread and the legacy of past members. There are many frames that look similar with only slight differences in eyewear, but there is meaning in searching the world for them, and what you find is valuable.

Bromley pearlescent, which 99% of the world doesn't care about. I was impressed when I saw it because I felt it was a setup for Iron Man material eyewear, possibly constructed with nanotechnology.

I would say the -2mm is a positive thing. The originals are cartoonishly large. Good on screen but not in person. Impractical.

Yeah tbh, even though I never tried these frames on, I would also prefer the smaller frames, just because I actually need to wear glasses. So I was hoping to get these frames to then ask my optician to put my prescription lenses into them so I can wear them as my daily glasses. Do you guys think that's a good idea? (my prescription isn't too horrible: -2.75 for right and -3.50 for left)
This is considering I even get my hands on any of these frames:lol:
btw, thanks guys for the warm welcomes and the helps and tips, much appreciated!

I think the 57mm of the TF Johnson looks great as an Aviator. 59mm of the Paul Smith Walton looks great and fits great as well but pushing the limits. 62mm of the Bromley is great as a movie prop on screen but in practice it looks rather silly. Especially when used with clear lenses.
