Can't find Tony Stark's sunglasses from Iron Man 3

Hi guys, just my 2 cents on the all-in lenses issue! I bought my silver all-ins years ago from initium, must have original edition, and then when I wanted iron man 2 lenses I messaged Jason and he knew what they had done differently and he posted them to me…so from my point of view the stock lenses are not the lenses in the movie, and if you want them you could message initium I guess

Show us your silver all-in.

Show us your silver all-in.
Not the best picture, I apologise! But these are not the lenses they came with. The original were much darker ‘sunglasses’ type lenses, and the movie lenses I ordered from initium are much lighter, you can see your eyes through them and they have a gradient

Thank you! I took the photo under the same conditions as you. mine looks dark. I think your lens is about VL60%.

It looks like I posted in Japanese. sorry

Well unfortunately Jason is gone and they don’t ever answer the phone there. I do however email Jennifer quite often but they don’t only do custom made to order lenses. So basically I just feed off everyone’s expertise here and use my best judgment at the local optical shop. Can’t get ahold of Tanya yet either. So I went with 40% grey gradient with blue blocker (no AR coating) and I should get them back tomorrow. I also did the same 40% brown with my Havana British steels. Should turn out like yours…maybe haha

Ah that’s strange, you’d think they’d be aware that people would want these things…I mean that’s why they created the concept and 3000’s! I can understand them not wanting to do random lenses for random glasses that are not their own, but according to Jason, they made those lenses for the movie, so surely they can recreate them quite easily.

Yea they look really dark in my opinion. But If you want, I can look to get mine recreated exactly the same at my optometrist and post them over to you, that way you know you have the exact lenses from initium that they created for the film

Found another Matsuda pair at a great price and I assumed they were 57s so I was going to flip them to raise money for a gold and black pair, but no, the mannikin head they were on was just tiny and they are 52s... so now I have to keep them. Having now compared the 57 vs 52 in person I slightly prefer the 52, I've decided.

I have my eye on a 57 pair, I got lucky and got the matte gold and black 52. I think I will like the 57 better though. If I’m correct the movie accurate red pair were 57 and the blue were 52?

No, they were both 52, RDJ does not have a big head so the 57s would appear pretty large on him. However some of our larger size compatriots here felt the 57 would fit them better and went with the bigger size. I did so initially myself.

I understand, thank you for the insight. I do like a bigger size somewhat, it brings out a more bold shape. Depends on the frames of course but some have a more masculine approach, being larger.

Mate go for the size that will suit you, not the screen accurate pair! My matsudas are 57 and they fit perfectly even though they’re not the same ones rdj wears. It’s about style not size imo. I have a larger head so only ever got glasses of his that would suit me, Paul smith Walton and initium London calling etc and avoid small frame glasses. Steal the style but fit them to you imo
