Do we know the code for the Rayban RB3342 Warrior?

Received mu Gunnar Optiks Stark Glasses in the amber tint... Upon opening I immediately ordered the sunglass tint... They are pretty well made and will be a welcome substitute when I don't feel like wearing my Dita's out of fear of losing or damaging them.

BTW - the packaging, case, even the tittle storage bag is very well done... They really should reissue the Neptune Vayper - It's the logical next step...
Cheers

I've passed a few times on pretty high priced ($200 mark) cedar tortoise OP Rayford's hoping that a bargain pair would eventually come along.

Then patience prevailed and I found a pair in the UK for just £35.00 GBP.

Wasn't sure what state they would be in, but they turned out to be in pristine condition.

The custom lenses needed are a very light gradient brown indeed, I don't currently have any quite that light in my donor box, so I'm on the lookout for some suitable donors.

There's nothing at all wrong with paying high prices, but for me, the bargains really do take away all of the "post purchase guilt" and effectively cure buyer's remorse when splashing out on even more eyewear!!

great pick my friend! I still remember when I asked you the permission to make a bid for a pair of these ones in australia that were a bit more expensive (a bit…).

but real pros as we are have another question about these comic-con pictures, which brand
is the tie from? I think it maybe could be a 2012 paul smith

Whilst looking for some very light gradient brown donor lenses for my OP Rayford's on AliExpress, I came across these super cheap replica David Beckham DB1001/S...

As the DB1001/S J5G/QZ are still fairly easy to buy new at the moment, I've been holding out for a bargain pair, or Black Friday deal, so for $7.62 these replicas (available in 5 colors) will do as stand-in placeholders until hopefully a cracking deal comes along on some originals.

In the meantime I found a new Paul Smith pair... the PS-815 in what they named the Chocolate/Amber colorway. The I.D. pic is a grab off my phone so I'm not sure what it's from, although the blond do should narrow down the time frame.

I quite like the proportions on these... still an aviator sunglass but not too oversized.

Edit: They look a bit different in my pic but it's just different lighting and the angle... in reality the size and color look spot on.

are those gunmetal?

I'm still leaning towards the silver frame 003/32 at the moment.
The other lightened pics seem to show more of a "chrome" silver than a gunmetal...
20221026_074650.jpg 20221026_074500.jpg

Based on some of the images I've seen of the gunmetal versions, I'm also not sure that the darker gunmetal frame would be reflective and shiny enough indoors to seem to light it up gold with the arena lighting...

Anyway, I currently already have a pair of silver 003/32 ordered.

On seeing your post though, it did cast enough doubt that I thought it best to be 100% sure and be able to directly compare them "in hand" with some gunmetal 004/51, which I've just ordered too. I only paid $25 a piece for the Warrior's, but the condition on both is described as "very good".
I thought for those low prices, physically comparing them both will be easier and more accurate than using product shots and reference pics.

This reminds me of the RB3320 silver versus gunmetal debate from way back when it all started!!

The Warrior's will both be coming from France in a combined shipment with other frames I've found over there, so I'll post some comparison pics and hopefully a definitive answer when they eventually arrive. :D

Hi and welcome to the thread!!

Initium Eyewear still do the Superunknown turtle/tortoise frame, but it's only now available in an RX frame...

..Found in the RX section, here...

You should email Initium and ask them if they can put screen accurate sunglass lenses in the RX frame for you, I'm sure they could help you out.

Here's a reference picture of my screen accurate "early issue" Superunknown's, which had the SA lenses (that darken when worn) and SA temple tips...

If you need more reference pictures, just let me know. :)

I decided to pull the trigger on the 004/51.

I've only paid £30 so for that price I can't really lose. They're very nice looking frames and if nothing else they'll be great for the beach next May :)

My 3320 were delivered on Friday after having the custom lenses done.
I'm very happy with the result! Although they're the gun metal version they look great - I love the wide arm detail as it reaches the frame.

Does anyone know of any impending special offers from Initium?

I seem to remember Black Friday and Thanksgiving were events that triggered some really good reductions in previous years
