Incredible work. Inspiring me to start my own. The Don Post files you're working from say "OUTDATED" in the title. Do you know why that is? Is there an updated file somewhere? I can't seem to find any other wearable stl of the Don Post scans.

I believe it is because some parts are not easy to be turned into a working costume. The Jesse M files has become the "go-to" files". The arms and torso on the outdated files do not have a way to be used for a working costume easily because some of the parts don't have ways to stick together. The shorts also don't fit easily inside the legs to be able to work (however I'm making rubber casting so it'll be flexible enough to fit)

PAINT DOES NOT STICK TO SILICONE SO MAKE SURE YOU USE URETHANE!

I ended up WASTING MY TIME buying a trial unit of Smooth On Rebound 40 silicone rubber, which cant be painted. I brushed 4 layers onto the inside of the vacuformed foot shells, took about half the contents to make one shoe, which cured and formed this very flexible rubber shoe cover. Too bad that paint didnt stick to it. I'll try it again with urethane this time

If you do this, just keep in mind that the object that you brush it onto has the design on the inside, because you cant paint this onto the outside surface of the object, unless you're making a mold. It would loose detail. Its a good thing that both the feet and shorts that I was using had the design on the inside too.

I decided to make another set of legs that are 10% skinnier to look less deformed. They are very snug, so good thing I didn't go even smaller. Eventually I just decided to stick with the originals which are much roomier.

Just printed a pair of c3po eyes in clear resin. Still need to wash them to cure them.

If anyone in the US needs the eyes printed in clear resin, I may be able do commissions to help you out. Feel free to send me a message. I have a container of resin that I bought just for the eyes, so I have a lot of extra resin left over. I can even spray frosted glass spray paint on the front. You can request any c3po 3d model, as long as its small.
