I believe it is because some parts are not easy to be turned into a working costume. The Jesse M files has become the "go-to" files". The arms and torso on the outdated files do not have a way to be used for a working costume easily because some of the parts don't have ways to stick together. The shorts also don't fit easily inside the legs to be able to work (however I'm making rubber casting so it'll be flexible enough to fit)

Here's a finished glove. I got spandex gloves on Amazon. And The squares are gold mirrors from here: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1038084949/7-mm-golden-square-craft-glass-mirror?ref=yr_purchases
To make the squares yourself, you can go into meshmixer and take a cube. Then just make it 2mm thick and 6mm wide, for the small ones. Those are just the dimensions I used, it was just guesswork.
The wires are drawn on with tulip dimensional fabric paint.

Here's the front of the belly wires.
I'm making EP 8/9 version and EP 6 version. I may make EP 3 version later on.
I used silicone wires, connected to a rubber corrugated floor mat, using zip ties.
For EP 6 version, I used some gold and silver shoelaces, which is surprisingly a screen accurate thing to do. The EP 6 wires are very odd compared to other movies. However the real one had the horizontal wires just painted on, I actually put real wires instead.

I couldn't stand the ways that the finger armor fit on my hand. I took a set of fingers from thingiverse, I modded and trimmed them, and now they highly resemble the sequel trilogy version. They fit so much better and don't stick out by the knuckles and hit the hand. I had a custom hand plate made to resemble the sequel version too. But I know its not screen accurate, but there is still high resemblance.

UPDATE JUNE 2024 Improved finger proportions.Fingers remixed from TKCC71, but I modified them to resemble the sequels suit. I do not claim them to be screen accurate, and the scaling proportions was just guess work, by eyeballing it.I put an additional hand plate that has the pistons already...

I switched to resin for 99% of my build. Remaking everything, as I've learned what techniques work best for post processing. Wasnt happy with my old attempts. Got a resin printer big enough to fit almost everything without having to split the parts.
Resin prints are way easier to sand, and the prints come out way cleaner than plastic fdm prints.

Here's a resin arm almost finished with filler primer. Just need to do a few touch ups to make sure there are no print lines left. Also a hand plate, not yet sanded.
Bicep was a file I made myself, to resemble the sequels version. Forearm was from the Jesse m files, but slightly modified.
There are some black areas faded on the arm, thats because I put black acrylic paint on it, but I ended up removing it, and there is some left over residue

Here's a thigh, almost done with the filler primer stage. So much better than my old attempts.
I did some modifications and shortened the leg files by the way. I'm 2 inches shorter than Anthony Daniel's. Also the Jesse files and the don post scan legs are 1/2 inch taller than screen used apparently, before even scaling up 5%. The shin must have been resculpted/extended by the don post people, and some parts must have shrunk different rates, because the thighs were likely already full length on the shrunken don post.
So it look a lot more than 2 inches of shortening to the files.
