Just a random note to myself (and anyone else who helps with windows); we need to be careful not to exert too much pressure on the trench backing plate when etching windows.

Nothing! Neither! All is well!

In fact I almost commented to that effect so not to cause any concern.

No - it just crossed my mind that much earlier in the process (before the two domes were mated) that in the back, the band had come loose, and I had to add a bunch of epoxy to lock it down.

The bond going around remains solid, but it is a glued bond, so its possible that with enough exertion, it may pop loose, in which case I'd be completely hosed.

When I was doing the trench lights, I remember scraping more than pushing but I am glad all is well.

Yeah - though its not weak, it is a weak link. Any bond has potential to break, and those are about the only bonds on the model.

Didn't make it... :unsure Finished 90% of the masking of the last secion of the lower dome. But, as mentioned, was a busy weekend.

But my son's soccer team won again! Playoffs!

For those wondering what's going on with the trench in this section:

I wound up stretching out the panels a bit too far.

You know, 2mm - 3mm extra on each panel ends up being an extra inch or two going around the dome. So the detailed painting ended up going farther around than I thought it would. That area of the trench that looks wacky was not really intended to be on the "finished" side.

I am more referring to the area where you blended the new bottom section with the previously done section that we did. More than likely all that will be blended together with the pencil lines.
