Well, there's that other version of the knob, that has the black plastic middle section. Some folks have used it instead of the most often used one.
You know, this one. Except the top and bottom are metal.View attachment 992569
Yeah, I see what you mean.
Don't think the part is rubber, I'll have to check.
Ha!! It IS rubber!! I peeled it right off, no problem.View attachment 992584
Well it certainly looks silly on the older knob,

lemme snap a quick pic on the other one.
Here you go, you'll just have to imagine the rest of the knob as aluminum.

I'd say it's entirely possible this is what we're seeing, but they had to have had more seagulls, or the Stunts wouldn't get their knob.
LOL yeah I saw that. I stand corrected.Guys in this photo you can see its just painted knurled seagull knob. Hope this helps.
I think I have always seen a black knob not silver. Probably painted as Seneca says.
These are the shots that interest / confuse me. Your can see the silver outer rim of the knob but there are a series of regularly spaced 'blobs' around the knob rather than the tight knurling on the seagull.

Thx Dann. But I do think that the macro community is still divided when it comes to the round disc. in that photo I don't see it. But in others I think I do. So who knows... Maybe it was on at one point in time of filming and had fallen off later, Idk lol. I like the look better with it off personally.Thank you, Seneca!
I always forget that there are pics that plainly show certain things. That pic also shows (me, at least) that the little metal disc on the battery door simply isn't there. I've never believed that it was, though it does make the Macros look a little cleaner when it's flipped over and reattached. I prefer it not be there, though. Also still prefer the Seagull knobs on the side!!!
And I like that painted knob! I may do that to mine, it sure looks legit.
In this photo, it looks like it could have been painted and some of the paint chipped away but most likely fell off and it's one of the nubs.
