Budget Wolf Build

Took a few photos of the back plate with the cannons attached. Despite the wingnuts allowing me to position them how I want, I think I'll probably end up glueing it all rigid when everything is complete. I just see it being one thing that could get damaged or start falling when I'm out. Cannons too are a certainty to get nicked.

Chhers for the encouragement guys.

Hey Man, this thread is top notch i use this foamex to make alot of my models e.g. boats and tanks and its great to work with. This now gives me the motavation to do the same for my own suit, I'm glad you posted this thread to show that you can make this stuff from plastic aswell and not just latex. The work you've put in to this is as good as any I've seen here on the lair, so keep up the good work lets see you suited up soon.

WOW!!!!!!!!!!! Very impressive. The most I like is the texture. I never tought of texturing sintra like that. Double wow!!!!

a true sintra god if I ever saw one!!!!!!!. this is why I work with sintra because this is how it will look like int he end results. NEIL you're a god!. =]

I'm anxious to see how you make out with the feet. I thought of foam as well, but figured the material was too easiy borken to be applicable in a costume situation. are you hardening it?

Covered them in a tonne of hot glue. latex would probably have been a better job but didn't have any at the time.

this is fantastic, being a poor college kid and not having the time of day to do this between work and class time i just dont know how you do it. very cool mate.

I just don't watch television, still work 40 hours a week, do sports and whatever else I want. It becomes obsessive when you get innot this stuff!

Got my Bio hunter76 Wolf finished off today. Lost track of how many hours I spent trying to get the lasers lined up but thankfully it's now done. Painted with a base of Hammerite silver than various shades of silver and black acrylic mixs. Bit of bronze around the teeth bases and then black washed most of it. Looks a lot sharper in decent light but had to use the flash for these.

Clever bit was something I borrowed from a P2 BIo Dan reviewed. Can't remember who made it but he had used audio connectors to run a cable to a handheld switch so the lasers could be turned on at will. Just did the same thing myself and hooked the 2.5mm jacks into the lasers via a 9V battery inside the helmet. Works really well.

Help needed...
Also got my feet, hands and mask covered with a base colour. I was trying to spray tinted latex and it was a nightmare, ended up brushing it on. I was planning on doing all the other colours with FW Ink tinted acrylic with only a tiny amount of latex mixed in. Is water ok for thinning down the acrylic? Enjoyed the airbrushing when it worked but never really got firing on all cylinders.

Wondered what you've been up to as you've been quiet on the Lair recently. Obviously busy painting and getting Bio in order. Curious to see how all your gear is going to hang together.

Bought a load of quick release clasps for the majority of fittings. Haven't been able to find a decent looking swathe of brown material for pennies yet or I would have all belts, bandoliers etc. done too. Want the mask done most of all as I've had the dreads sitting in a box for 4 months waiting...

I'm in the same situation, resin cast all painted now and dredded up but don't want to show pictures until I get his loin cloth and belt done. I too am having trouble finding the right material/source.
My dreds lay in a box for over a year and a half, but ******, Bambooie dreds and beads don't half look awesome once fitted. Really think the dreds can make or brake a Predator build.

Good luck with the rest of your project.

Got the mask started, only a base coat and burnt umber layer so far. Also added in a base layer of veins on the mouth which will obviously get covered up as I do the mouth area. Girlfriend also made me the jaw which acts as a belt buckle. Made from air drying clay. Got Thursday booked off work to get the mask finished, it's too dark by the time I get done and I'm using the greenhouse as a workshop so no artificial light either.
