Budget Wolf Build

Awesome work bro! Absolutely inspiring. I am new here, and wanting to get cracking, and want to do this stuff myself. I was kicking around the idea of using buckets for armor, but after seeing just how much you can do with this stuff, I am going to try and find some today! Thanks for documenting all of this and the templates. I don't know if you realize how much of a help it is to those of us who have never tackled something like this and are feeling overwhelmed!

Yet again, thanks for all the positive comments, much appreciated.

Anyway, onto the mask. Spent all of today painting this bad boy up and I'm fairly pleased with how it came out. I've never airbrushed anything in my life so it took a while to get the feel of it but got there in the end. I think I've overcoloured some parts but it's done now and ain't being touched. Hooking up some lamps and torches in the greenhouse now so I can get a coat of varnish onto it and then maybe get started on fitting the dreads. I did the feet and hands at the same time though they aren't quite finished. Feet look cack to be honest but I don't have time to resculpt them.

Cheers.

Very nice! If you have time before permawetting it, try misting some of your base colors over the black overspray ..the black underneath will add to the depth. Otherwise amazing paint up for a first time airbrush ..you have some hidden skills there!

Too late...but thanks for the tip. I'll remember that for next time.

;) :p ;)
Holy S^#T!!!
That is fantastic
I haven't had a look at this thread in awhile, you have been busy.
The cannon is wicked, as is the rest of the suit.
Nice paint up of the Wolf mask

It is an amazing work to the armorparts, I realy like it.
The paint is good for 1 day work but there are a few things to make it better painted.
Some smoother shadings and cleaner paint will give your mask a more honest appearance.
For the mouth you should take a more like flesh lookin color and a bit of gloss varnish for a wet look.
The back of the mask needs more highlights at the horns.
U need some darker color in the wrinkles.
I think you can get some hints from miniature painting.

By the way it is a nice build and paint. Keep up that standard.

Like your attitude. Done the work, **** it, it's finished and I'm not changing anything I don't like, move on.
Sure there are things you would want different but for a first time airbrushing not three bad.
Everyone at some time is a first time airbrusher, my Pred build was my first effort too and I look at and think, yuk don't like that bit but can't be arsed changing it.

When is the whole thing going to be unveiled?

Cheers for all the feedback guys, everything appreciated. Been flat out this week trying to get done. Getting the dreds in is a total flaming pain, and I've a whole skin to paint today. Some of the strapping is done but still a lot on. Going to be a seriously late night. Again!

Doubt I'll have amything more up until Sunday when all being well, I'll have been out on the town with it finished.

It was only little criticism and from what can one learn more as if somebody points out one to his mistakes?
It makes no difference if you do this for the first time or has already done thousands of times!
Everybody makes mistakes and someone must be improved sometimes. This goes for everybody in such way.
Take a deep breath and accept it that your work wasn't the best you can do!
I hope you learn from that.

Just to be clear before an argument starts, I appreciate ALL the feedback as I mentioned. As I said myself, it's nowhere near what I would want but time restraints stopped me having another go. I've ordered a set of Bambooie dreads and will probably have another go at the mask over the next few months. Every comment on how to improve it is noted and is taken onboard. :D

Anyway, should have a few pictures up tonight of it finished. Learnt a huge amount from wearing it out in a club, so many things that looked good just couldn't stand up to any abuse. Live and learn.

I didn't mean my comments as a pop at anyone, quite the contrary as the work in progress IS the forum for adding practical criticism. I agree with many of the comments made by c3r34l as I would have liked to have seen some things done differently too. My clumsy use of English has made it look as though I was criticising c3r34l for commenting - not so. What I said was merely I've done the work, moved on to the next part and I don't want to go over old ground. Danger being you fiddle with things and never get finished. Don't want any hard feelings because of inarticulate messaging on my part.
Need to see the photos of the whole thing put together for your party.

Well as always I got caught up and didn't take enough pictures, I only have these ones to show for a night out. Don't even have any with the mask showing but I'll be keeping y eye out on the club's site as well as facebook for any otheres I stood for. The body suit didn't stand up to the wear and tear and a few bits got broken but overall I'm pretty happy how it came out. The armour I won't be changing at all, will have to get bolts or rivets for the leather straps thorugh as glue just doesn't hold well enough.

cool wolf are those latex dreeds on it as i got latexs 1s that when i put it on the mask they stuck out makeing my head look like a palm tree so what i did was to push a metal bar down each 1 the rods i used was like the 1s a florist would use and they shaped the dreeds down just right but god a mask with latex dreeds dont half weight a tone lol :D

Yeah, they were seriously heavy, the weight alone I don't mind but it is hard to keep the mask in balanced so you can see properly. Booie's on their way... NIce idea with the metal rods though, never thought of that. It's only the top that needs taming, the thinner ends drop and move really well.

Been following your progress for a while, it's nice to see how well it turned out. I really like the airbrush on the suit; those are my preferred shades of colors.
