Can't recall exactly, but I found somewhere online that had the original SFX recordings from the show.

The real pistol used for the movie poster blaster was a modified toy replica of an M-16. It was like a teeny tiny M-16. I know I've seen pics of the original toy, and I don't think they even modded it out much.
