Hello all!

Some of you know me from my Van project from another thread. I have been working on recreating various computer interfaces from nuBSG for that project. I have had several people tell me that if I start a individual post for the screens, I might get more response. So here goes...

Still needs a few additional things added. It is full animated with all 3 sweeps and "bogey" targets. Still a work in progress though... Critiques appreciated....

Secondly.... Raptor Status Screen:

Just started this one tonight... I have not been able to find anyone else who has reworked this layout... so I am missing significant parts of the on screen text. I have marked alot of the missing parts with ???'s. If you know any of the text, can make it out, or have a reference, please let me know....

Of course.... critiques, input, and insight always appreciated.

Will the animations be available for download? Perhaps... not sure yet...

I really, really wanted to do this for a status screen on my computer, but lacked the skills!

OK, I've been doing a little digging and come across a few images from the auction viewings which I've uploaded to a photobucket album. I'm sure you've probs come accross them before, but just in case you haven't! There are some pretty good shots, but none of the Raptor diagnostics screen your doing I'm afraid. There is a pretty clear shot of the "Viper Launch" Screen from CIC which may be interesting. I was going to link it in here, but it is SO BIG it would just be annoying!

From which you can download a zipped wallpaper and icons pack. The exciting thing about it is that you can open up the DRADIS contacts icons as fairly large PNGs in their own right, So no need for you to draw them all up. Here's an example.

Thank you Pete for information! I appreciate it as always.

I had seen Matt Rex's icons and things... but thought that since I had already modeled the Dradis, a couple icons wouldn't hurt... so they are already in there. But that is a great reference! Thank you!

The Viper Launch screen is on the list of screens to work on. I want to get the 2 Dradis' displays mocked up (CiC/VipermkVII), Raptor status screen, Viper Launch Screen, and if I can find enough reference images... the Galactica Pitch/Direction control screen which we briefly see when they are making the turns heading for Ragnar Station.

Just thoughts and more projects... but if you do one... might as well tackle a dozen :)

Hey, I've uploaded two of the ebay auction photos in a slightly bigger size, but that's the best I have i'm afraid, not much more help really, they are now #1 and 2 in that album. However, I found those photos on the Italian ebay where someone sold a Raptor. It may be worth contacting the seller to see if he has those same images in their original size? A bit of a long shot perhaps...

The one thing I struggle with is the font. With the scanline effect on most of the graphics to simulate older computers, it is nearly impossible to tell what font is being used. I have read in several places here on the boards that they used a font "Picon Fleet" for signage etc... but I be danged if I can find it anywhere. Obviosly someone has it, cause I see them making prop signs and magnetic callsign boards.... would be a nice thing to find or purchase... the font that is....

I put in a PM to Cmdr.Kerner and hopefully he'll get back to me soon. Those paper props look outstanding!

And by the way... thanks to everyone who has clicked and looked at my thread. Thanks to those of you who have helped with my newbie questions :lol I so appreciate it! We all start somewhere :)

Aw man, that raptor status screen is looking better and better the more I see it! It would be cool to have an interactive BSG Program, where you could touch buttons and what not and they go to different screens. Hell, i'd have that as my Vehicle diagnostic system! Not just pretty stand alone pictures.

can't wait to see more!
 
I know Bobatrek is a member over at Propworx like myself, and many of us over there collected items from the auctions. You might want to query over there, b/c someone may own the actual item and can help you out.

I will have to inquire and see what I can find out. I was originally just thinking Dradis... but after watching the miniseries and Season 1 again... I have definitely re-connected with my love of the Raptors... thus my work on this screen.

I am sure someone somewhere took hi-res images of the Comm unit station on the Raptor... just need patience and some investigations :p
