Thanks guys, I really appreciate the kind words.  I owe everyone who posted in this thread, chatted with me in the chat room, and replied to my many (and sometimes dumb) PM's a huge thanks for the inspiration and motivation to help me realize this dream.  I'm pretty sure this won't be my last build, but for the time being I'm going to focus on upgrades, and a few other little projects that I want to get done.  Looking back on it, I never really fully understood the amount of work that goes into a complete scratch build, and that's good, cause I probably would have never attempted it.  It's been so much fun, and the things I learned will carry on to other things I do in my real life (day job), not to mention make my next one that much better.

Been doing some upgrading in preparation for the convention the end of this month, and figured I would post some pics of the new shoulder/bicep armor I did.  It definitely looks better than what was there, and I'm pleased with the outcome.  As with the rest, it's made with sintra and foamies.  I also changed the cannon mount to something smaller and lower on the shoulder.  This is probably the last change I'll make to the armor, as I hope to start sculpting all new stuff that's more accurate then what I have now.

Brian, this thing looks great. The first thing that stuck me is how nice this suit flows. When I say flows I mean I see hardly any wrinkles anywhere. The feet and legs in particular. I see a lot of suits with wrinkled ankles and shin armor. This is work well done.

Very nice Brian! The suit looks wonderful...I agree with Jeff. I hope you have a good time at the convention. Wish I could be there buddy...been thinkin' 'bout ya'.

Thanks Jeff.  I was really trying to go for something that "fit" my size so all the proportions stayed the same.  I personally don't care for the bobble head look, so I made it a point to do everything on a smaller scale.  I put in allot of time altering the captain america suit so it would fit me well, knowing that the only thing the latex would do is shrink and cause wrinkles.  I also spent allot of time padding everything out to avoid the sags and wrinkles.  It wasn't much fun, but definitely worth the effort.

Thanks again Steve, you've been a big support and helped push me to get it done when the lack of motivation wasn't there.  I'm very excited (and a little nervous) about the Convention.  The costume contest is at 1:30 on June 1st, and Connor and I both are already registered.  I'm not sure how much time I'll be able to spend in the suit due to some on going health issues, but I didn't go through all this to have him standing in a corner.  Time will tell.

Your suit looks awesome, very consistent. I'm saving the leg, chest armor till last too. Seems like it will be the most challenging.

Question, what and how did you attatch your netting?

By the way.  You were right, the paint is covering the spiderman line pattern on my muscle suit nicely. At one point during the latexing I was ready to junk it... glad I didn't.

Thanks.  As far as netting, it's a full body 'fence net' body suit that was cut in half (horizontally at the waist).  I then just put it on and tacked it in place with a few stitches of heavy duty thread.  The velcro that holds on various parts helps as well.  After the convention next weelend I plan on getting some different netting, because tbo it's a pain in the butt and doesn't look all that great.

Glad the suit has worked out for you.  Mine had the big "A" on the chest that you could easily see until I painted it.  You can't even tell it's there now unless you knew it was there from the start and look very hard for it.
