I'm on a Borderlands kick again, this time with the DLC Psycho Krieg's Buzz Axe! This weapon is badass and is perfect to round out your Krieg cosplay. Here is a small tutorial on its construction and weathering:
The axe started of with some awesome in game shots from RPF member Timen Roach. Thanks again!!

Once I had the basic image drawn out on some MDF I sized it up to my original buzzaxe. I didn't quite make it as big as the in game for shipping and convention concerns.

The handle is 2 pieces of MDF glued together and sanded. Then a dremel was used to add all of the wood grain and battle scars. The top brackets were also cut from MDF and I laid out my resin bits and pieces to see how it would all fit.

Is it weird that I took fake wood and tried to make it look like real wood ?!?!?!

Ok, after that I primed and sanded the grip and top brackets for molding. I like to use smoothon rebound 25 and cast them up in smooth cast 300.
