Hey everyone.

One of my costumes for Dragon*Con 2013 is the rabbit ears version of the Killer Marauder baddy from Borderlands 2. I'll post the pictures here and may come in later with the WIP pics if anyone is interested.

OMG! These are beautiful props! Is the gun and shield made of foam, like your helmet? and is that red screen on the shield laser cutted?

Yep, it's almost entirely EVA and craft foam, with a touch of styrene. The red window is red acrylic etched and cut by laser. I made the design with Corel draw and Eric Jarman did the rest with his laser.

Cool, thanks for telling me, just to add, I'm definitely interested in seeing your WIP pics on this.

Even though I've never played Borderlands, all of these great costume and weapon builds are really making want to try the game. Nice work!

Very nice work ^_^
I love how you have captured (IRL) that specific celshaded/cartoonish style from the game.
I am interested in what way you made the fabrics used look their part. Just using markers or something else? :)

Thanks! I have actually "dirtied" the pants and hoodie since I posted the last photos and I think it looks better.

But what you're seeing in the pictures on the hoodie is Rit dye (blue) for the darker blue areas that I painted on with a paint brush. I then outlined those spots, as well as the hem lines, with a paint pen since I knew it would not run or bleed. On the pants I actually used some brown India ink for the dark areas and then outlined those with the paint pen. Since then I've taken a torn piece of foam and added some black dirtying marks with black acrylic paint on the pants and hoodie, similar to the gun and helmet. Looks pretty good.

Ah, thanks for the info :)
Make sure to upload a picture of the current state. would love to see that too!
Cheers /M

GREAT work! Hopefully get to grab some shots of you at D*C. My friends and I are doing a good size Borderlands group there (I'll be Zer0)

Re-made the bracer and chap on the right leg, modified the hoodie to be a little more snug, and dirtied up the hoodie and pants a bit. This is final version.
