Leigh, this is an amazing thread. Take your time and get back to it when the real world challenges are at peace. I'm sure everyone here will wait forever if that's how long it takes. We respect your talents and hope u can get back to Bob soon!
Re: Bob the Alien (Giger inspired Alien) Sculpting finished page 45
Many Thanks for your patience & your support folks
I do have a small update:
I've just placed a large order for some new materials that should be turning up sometime this week
Re: Bob the Alien (Giger inspired Alien) Sculpting finished page 45
Leigh...so pleased for you. I'm crossing my fingers that the investment will be worthwhile but I have little doubt it will be. You'll tackle this with your customary skill and tenacity and I'm sure the result will be rewarding.

This is so great looking. I would highly suggest a matrix mold.
With a brush on you will almost certainly get a few air bubbles.
Matrix (or case molds) are a bit of extra work, but make your life sooooo much easier later.
Re: Bob the Alien (Giger inspired Alien) Sculpting finished page 45
Thanks guy's
I cant build a Matrix mould, the surface of Bob is too soft, a brush up mould will have to do
Having invested a lot of time into Bob I've now invested a lot of money into him too:
I've still got to get the Thixo for the silicone, some brushes & some disposable rubber (not latex) gloves & I should be ready to go
I'm going to be changing direction a little bit, I'll be leaving the main body section to be moulded last instead of first as its quite a complicated part
