Blu-ray DVD Deals (Buck Rogers in the 25th Century: Complete Series)

Re: Blu-ray DVD Deals (Twin Peaks: The Entire Mystery $74.99)

I followed your link and it was $199.00. Was it a limited time only?

Yes. Back in 2013...

Amazon periodically discounts various movie boxsets deeply. But they usually go back up to full price or thereabouts within a short window. The thing is, the discounts will return later. The real question is whether you'll have the cash then.

damn these lightning deals are great but sucks ass if your not quick enough

Re: Blu-ray DVD Deals (Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase One)

Smallville Season 5 -10 were mastered on blue-ray. The previous seasons were only marketed on DVD format. The show was shot in HD and it is possible to transfer and create a set on blu-ray. But Warner believes there is not enough interest in the show to do so. I think most people are waiting at this point to see if Warner will produce it in bluray but I doubt it. They are being very conservative with their non-active franchises.

Marvel Phase one is constantly on/off/on sale at $ 149. Just wait if you are interested in getting one.

$149 is good but $98 is even better. I guess I will keep checking. So far Ive just not been quick enough.

Side note: I gather that both Phase 1 and Phase 2 box sets don't have all the extra features that the standalone discs do. So, if that matters to you, it might make more sense to avoid them. Might also want to run the numbers on how much it'd cost to get individual discs vs. the sets.

The Marvel sets are nice for the extras you get with the props. The first phase was great for that, the second phase a bit more lacking. They do also have a bonus disc that has materials on the next phase. I have all the individual sets and find them to have the best extras as well. For the ultimate collection, I also think your best to stick with the individual releases.
Ant Man comes out in a Steel Book Blu-ray at Best Buy only tomorrow, that's my next purchase.

Re: Blu-ray DVD Deals (Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase One)

I heard that the first movie has some color timing issues with it. Anyone know if that's been corrected?

Re: Blu-ray DVD Deals (The Lord of the Rings: The Motion Picture Trilogy Extended Edi

Today's deal is frustrating as over the last few weeks I've been picking up the individual seasons for 12 bucks. I only have 8 and 9 left to get. This would have saved me a bit. Grrr
