Blade Runner Question

I really recommend the recent full word for word comic adaption of the book.

I read the book back in the day, and the comic adaption was a great way to revisit the material.

And lots of great commentary about PKD/BR/DADOES in the back in every issue.

Watch the Theatrical Release first. It simply is the fastest way to get what is happening.

Maybe you can derive it on your own, but you're already probably spoiled for a true first viewing anyway, so there is no way to know.

I agree with this, with the minor caveat that I'd watch the International Theatrical Cut. It really isn't drastically difference, but it's got some grittier violence. That said, the violence is done in a disturbing but meaningful way, so I find it resonates well.

After that, check out the Final Cut and draw your own conclusions as to which is better.

I'd watch the Final Cut first. The restored picture is stunning on Blu-ray, even better if you can catch it at 4K at a good theatre.

I find it's also a more complete film, lots of little changes and fixes that add up without intruding like most other director's cuts do.

It is a film you need to pay attention to, and it doesn't provide all the answers to the questions it raises. It's a film with subtlety and nuance, and it's rewarding to be allowed to think for yourself.

"Commerce is our goal here at Tyrell. "More human than human" is our motto." - There's nothing more cynical or more true than this for me.

To me that is one thing that makes Blade Runner great. It doesnt take the first hour to explain exactly what is going on, and in the end everything isnt wrapped up in a nice little bow. Everything is subject to interpretation and there are about as many different views regarding it as there are people who have watched it. Almost no two people see it the same way. Everyone gets a little something different. It isnt forced fed down your throat. It is conversation provoking if nothing else.
