Black Series Mandalorian helmet announced

Great video, thanks. They show a finished production sample at 1:38:50 and the finish looks very shiny. The designer mentions it is a vacuum metalized finish with an overspray of some sort. Looks way better in the video than in the preorder listings (it seems to take the opposite approach from the EFX and Anovos replicas and errs on the side of being a brighter silver).

If anyone is in a GIF-ing mood, these four timestamps are where the designer flips between the Hasbro 3D model and the Lucasfilm scan of the original helmet. Gives a good idea of what was adjusted to make the toy.

Sounds like this helmet came from assets from directly from Lucasfilm. Start at 1:33.
Thanks for sharing the video. The entire Hasbro section was a really fun watch.
Also the paint finish on that sample was shockingly awesome!

Happy I preordered this. I had thought about customizing it when I got it (since it’s a cheap blank slate) but think Im going to leave it as is after seeing this video.

If the production finish is anywhere close to that prototype, then this is an absolute no brainer purchase. It does look a little large but that's to be expected i guess.

I'm curious on the accuracy. Boba's BS helmet was 'corrected' to eliminate the wavy brow/asymmetricalness and also was given a slightly bigger t-visor portion, however the Mando's doesn't appear to have any 'wavy' brow that that Boba's does, so I'm wondering how close it will be. The promo photos appear to be taken very close which may have added some lens distortion, i could take a photo of the latest Boba helmet from RSProps and super close it will appear distorted and not accurate, so I wonder how this BS Mando helmet will look when we get more photos of it taken further away, and if the accuracy will look any better
Did you seen my Boba Fett helmet Hasbro vs EFX comparison? There you can see how much is different.
I will make the same comparison with my EFX Mando and the BS one when I have it.
For the price the Hasbro helmets are very nice...but they will never be really accurate like an EFX or Anovos I think.

True, but they're also a fraction of the price. That's what makes them great. We don't need them to be perfect.

Yes it really looks too large.

And I really hate this chrome silver color. The real beskar finish is a lot darker.

IMHO, the BS line of helmets is a real value because you get the best bang for your buck. For the last 20 years, collectors have been spending a lot more on for fan made helmets that ar nothing close to the details and quality of the BS helmets.

And these days, you can spend a lot more on an Anovos helmet and get an ugly thumb print molded into the side. In that case, that doesn’t sound like getting your money’s worth to me.

I think for the sizing you have to consider the pauldrons will make your frame look larger. Helmets will always look larger when you are wearing a tshirt vs the full armor.

100% The reason that almost all of my Star Wars helmets are Black Series ones. Beats the everloving bantha poodoo out of the Rubies pieces that are almost equal price here in Australia.
