Black Series Boba Fett Helmet Announced

Tbh regarding anovos, i think alot of the hate was because no one really knew what they were striving for.

They promoted it as screen accurate because of scans etc.

But then they later specified it was going to be idealised. Fair enough, people expected it to be 501st approvable.

I thought the idealise appearance was going to be removing the warts and better quality builds, i didnt expect them to sharpen everthing including the eye sags which i despise like the plague.

Its so narrow it hurts to see for me.

I was okay with buying it if it looked like the promo pics (which it didnt!)

I dont remember people saying they hated the visor? Source?

I do recall them complaining the eyes werent trimmed to fit the visor snuggly.

There's definitely a slight asymmetry... Not as pronounced as the original but I wouldn't be surprised if the production item is "cleaner" than the prototype.

That sdcc interview was an eye opener. Unfortunately, I keep getting hung up on the part where Mr Rego explained how much his team enjoyed developing a helmet interior that felt "in-world". I had hoped that perhaps he'd mention how much was pulled from the fan community...but yeah, they totally came up with the design all on their own. Smh

You guys are trying really hard to see asymmetry. You've latched onto it so hard, I know I won't change your minds, but here's a mirrored overlay of the exact pic frogfreak just posted. I've dialed the transparency of the mirrored layer down to half. It looks pretty damn close to dead-on to these eyes. *shrug*

Yeah. I thought it was ridiculous aswell.

As you showed in the photo yourself, it seems more like the tilt and rotation of the helmet is at fault, not the helmet itself.

I think you're right that I'm trying to see asymmetry. At lest the entire t isn't symmetrical. They left the wave on it.

Apologies if this was posted already and I missed it. I saw the very angled photo earlier in the thread but not straight on.

I think this photo shows the symmetry quite well.

Cool photo. Not trying to be argumentative but tin this pic when zoomed in along the bottom edges towards the sides you can see just a little variance. Again not significant asymmetry, but also not truly symmetrical at least to my eyes.

You're right. I looked again and see that not all of the edges line up. You can take the beast out of the wild but not the wild out of the beast. It's hard to make something perfectly symmetrical with out mirroring one side that was completet wonky to begin with.

I was hoping they would be painted... but looking at closer images on Amazon, they could be decals? In any event, I hope they're NOT stickers. & I also hope we DON'T have apply them ourselves. My stickering ability leaves a lot to be wanting.

That's why I ask...

In the "official" images (with the black back drop), the way the light reflects looks strongly like an application.

IF IT IS...

I personally have no issue with that. Combine the price and the accuracy, then I don't give a flying **** HOW they did it.

But am just curious...

Agreed.
But I have admit, until you said something... I really hadn't looked that closely.
I've got this on order, so I'll find out one way or the other. My only other Black Series helmet is the Vader Reveal. Are there stickers on the X-Wing helmets?

X-Wing does not appear to be stickers...

VISUALLY, up close, and in person, the X-Wing does not look like stickers or decals.

But...

The with rebel logo, you can feel some relief as you run your finger tip over it. It may be a decal, but looks just fine...

I think it might be decals & paint. Some of the heavier damage might be decals. You can see what looks like "edges of stickers" around some of the bigger scratches.
Here are some screen caps from my iPad.

I don’t know. Maybe some decals. But, not completely sold they are. Depending on how they are painted there could be “edges” with paint as well. And if there is any relief in the mold they were casted from...
Look forward to seeing this in person.
