Ok so, first time I log in here for years, and I find this. What the hell happened.
Since when does Hasbro produce this quality ?
The pictures look amazing, especially for a 120$ "toy".
Never could afford a Fett helmet, this is a dream come true. Preordered, alongside the Red 5 helmet.
So thrilled !!
The Fett helmet is $119 w/free shipping on Best buy.Amazon.ca has the Fett up finally - $149.99 with free shipping, which is better than Hasbropulse's price. And yeah, just got my BS Red 5 yesterday and am suuuuuper impressed for a hundred bucks. If they manage to get the Fett deco even as good as this one, I might wet myself.
I wholeheartedly agree with you!
It really doesn't matter how altered the scan is. The point is that this Fett helmet is a massive improvement over their old wide visor bug eyed version from the pre Disney 2000s. It's a toy that actually has some sort of lineage to the original prop and it's a game changer. The clean up is needed for the masses or we would see a lot of complaints and bad reviews. It happened when the Anovos TK bucket made its rounds. A lot of folks didn't like the asymmetry and thought the flexible plastic sheets(instead of molded plastic commonly used) was bad quality. Hasbro needs to appeal to the masses not the niche group of prop collectors.
I for one think it's amazing they put this much effort into the paint job. Find another $100 Fett helmet that has a paint job half as good as that. For this price we have the Rubies helmets to compare and there is no comparison. If this helmet isn't your cup of tea go spend hundreds on a fan helmet. I absolutely applaud Hasbro's effort put into this and happy to see the budget put towards the build of the helmet instead of the gimmicks that make it a toy.
If we really think about it a light up range finder isn't really a toy gimmick. This is practically another version of the pcr helmet. The clean up can't be used to dock it down because it was intentional. It's the same has the EFx just with different manufacturing process.
Disagree on this part. I'm not seeing it. Not sure which portion you're referring to with the "bottom lid to eye visor". The vertical part of the "tusks"? But the side-by-side of the finished helmet tipped to show the interior and the rear shot of it sitting flat... I'm not seeing any asymmetry. The sides at the earcaps are sitting the same height above the surface, and the rear brow band is running horizontally across that shot -- not tilted that would indicate the bottom rear edge isn't level, like the original wasn't. Ultimately, we probably won't know until someone from here has one in-hand.The more I look at it the more I see subtle Asymmetry. It was not completely removed from the scan. The bottom lid to the eye visor is wavy and the interior shot of the helmet shows a very lopsided helmet.

I see what you mean! Left side, (viewers left) the bottom visor lid kind curves upward. Whereas the right side, (viewers right) is even maybe actually curved down just a little bit!The more I look at it the more I see subtle Asymmetry. It was not completely removed from the scan.
