Black Series Boba Fett Helmet Announced

At the end of the day any interiors being sold *right* now are based off the Riddell helmets. I'm not saying your interiors aren't nice WhiteShadow but it's based off Riddell's with various changes. There have been multiple producers of interior helmet kits for the past 10 years all based off the Riddell with various changes and first maker that comes to mind is Sidewinder.

I highly doubt there are any legal avenues that could be explored.

I believe the first of these Riddell inspired full size foam helmet interior kits was produced by Marrow Sun in 2005.

Just thought I'd help fill in that little bit of the history of these things.

That's kind of rude isn't it? Borderline name calling. I mean, I could have responded by calling you obtuse... But I don't know you.

Wait pal,.........hold on just a darn second,.............. Let me look up the word obtuse. Googling,....................................I have slow internet so give me a minute,........................loading,............................this is embarrassing,.....................................the little circle really can drive one crazy,...................okay got it.

Obtuse-Annoyingly insensitive or slow to understand.

Actually that describes me very well.

Seriously though, I was not calling you silly. I was saying your being a little silly. Honestly look at what you are saying objectively.

I'm silly, stupid, and slow six times a day.

It's all good.

Yup, MarrowSun started it all.
I began working on a single piece rendition of the Riddell interior in 2008.
Stormrider is the only other maker that I know of that has worked with flexible foam.
On thingiverse, there's a render available from a user named streaker.
To my knowledge, MS had a good bit of success with his kits before lending the molds to another member.
SR's V1 kits were popular but if I remember correctly, he'd become frustrated with production problems and costs while developing his V2 kits. Last year, he announced a final run on an all new design (V3 I'd assume) but I'm not sure if that's still happening.

As a side note... And Cantina_Dude can attest to this... Flexible foam is a real pain in the a$$ to work with. You have all of the problems you'd find with resin casting, but everything with foam is accelerated. You have to thoroughly mix the components, pour evenly into the mold, then apply and secure back pressure... All within 30-45 seconds.

Yup, we're good.

And what I'm after here probably is silly... Maybe foolhardy sounds better though.

What the heck, I just received notice that my order was cancelled. I obviously did not cancel it. I clicked on 'contact us' link on the hasbropulse website, which directed me to an email address, I typed out my complaint only to receive a bounce back immediately saying the email address isn't valid in my email inbox. Ugh.

Guess I'll redo it from Amazon like I should've the first time.

Check it fully. Mine says cancelled, but when I go to check the order, it's still active, accepted, and authorized.

Fantastic news. Anyone know of a UK pre-order?

Think this is a kick in the nuts fir EFX , if they had upped their game years ago they could have sold hundreds.

I use Dark Side Toys - partly as they are close enough to drive to and sulk on their doorstep if there's a problem, but also as they allow 10% deposits on pre-orders.

PS - I've never had a problem with them ;-)

Along that line, I keep wondering how this one flies under the license radar - I'm guessing Hasbro has a 'toy and role-play' license, but this thing, particularly without the sound effects of the previous BS helmet offerings, just looks like it's edging awfully close to stepping on Anovos', eFX's, and even Rubies' toes regarding their licenses for 'costumes'. If I'd paid the kind of fees LFL charges to produce costumes in a clear lane, I'd be miffed at this thing I think.

“Premium Electronic Helmet”. My guess is that since it’s offered as an incomplete product that must be assembled by the consumer, that’s the fine line as the others offer a completed product to the consumer. What do I know, though? I just hand them my money for a good looking helmet lol

licenses are broken down in weird ways. likely, Anovos is high end costuming, EFX is display pieces, and hasbro is toys/roleplay

I think it’s the other electronic features that make playable features.

The other thing, I believe all products going into development have to be approved by Disney which I believe would at that time warn against a conflict of other existing licenses.

Just something else. I believe licenses can be written up in many ways. We tend to assume that if one company holds the license for one thing, it is exclusive and others can’t make their own version. Sometimes they are limited to distribution areas too. I think a company can give a license without giving exclusive rights. Of course that cost of that license would probably be less. Not saying this is the case here but the majority of use know nothing about the terms of these licenses, we should not make assumptions.

Another thing. I also believe if needed, a company can make a deal with another company to make something that does conflict with terms. I believe this is the case with Rubies making items like the light up extendable lightsabers. I have noticed in the past that the Hasbro logo is printed on the back of the packages. Sort of like how Sony lets Disney utilize Spiderman for the MCU. Once again, not saying this is the case. Mainly just want to throw it out there.

None of the above do I know for sure. Mostly just bits of info I’ve picked up via different news items over the years.

Licenses for a single item are often broken into subclasses including size, material, points of articulation, and purpose. That’s why you will see action figures for the same character from multiple companies. Also why companies like neca sometimes cannot produce certain Batman figures smaller than their mega versions.

Anovos has some items as kits such as the OT stormtrooper, some blasters, and the Boba/Jango Fett jet pack.

I believe all of these high end Hasbro helmets have more of a toy like construction and include electronics for play. They seem to be making each new one more accurate.

The Hasbro helmets and the efx PCR helmets are pretty similar, but the Hasbro usually has more compromises that reduce cost and accuracy.

I have a Hasbro and Anovos Poe helmet. There is no question the Anovos is much higher quality, but it cost several hundred more.

I usually grab them off amazon, this time I used hasbro prime in fear of not getting one

Amazon never let me down with black series

Bicycle parts... now that’s a whole other story
