Black Ops freezing sucks!!!

My PS3 continues to lock up during black ops online play and man is it ticking me off. This is the only game it does it on. It started after the 3rd or 4th patch for the game and there are days I just take it out and forget playing. I'm curious if others here are having this problem? I have the PS3 slim.

If you think that's bad, try playing COD MW2 online... I would say 4 out of 5 games are completely full of hackers and guys running cheat-codes. It's like once black ops came out, they just stopped monitoring/maintaining MW2... kind of lame :unsure

I haven't had too bad a problem on Xbox with that, the bigger problem is host migration. Seems like anytime one team is getting schooled, there will be someone who happens to be the host leaves, then another who also happens to be the one chosen to be the new host and so on. Get's really annoying.

That sucks, I love that game. Haven't played much since Black Ops came out, but I think it's the better game.

I just don't like the lag you experience sometimes when you shoot someone or if there's a lot going on; bombs, napalm, etc...

Whenever they release a new patch it's ALWAYS laggy and glitchy, it takes them typically a few days to iron it out before it'll run smooth. I agree though, it's really annoying at first.

Haven't had this problem at all. Do you connect worldwide or local? I play local only games, better connection. From the sounds of it though it's the game or the patch.

I play worldwide and I can't say as I've had any trouble with game freeze during game play. Once in a while, the server will have trouble loading the game though and will get stuck on the loading screen. When that happen, the game will usually just time out and goes back to the start screen.

I'm set to local. I may give worldwide a try though and see if it is server related. I do get a lot of kickouts. I don't have the same issues on MW2 or any other game.

Your best bet is to also check out the playstation forums, I'm sure you aren't the ony one experiencing these problems. You may even want to report it as treyarch do have thier ear to the ground for user problems with this game. Hope it gets fixed, I love the game, and MW2 has it's good points too. I was thinking of doing replica "Sally 8"'s - the M1911A1 pistols on the poster. Replica guns are easier to come by than real guns in Australia.

I've had a few freezes but no where near the amount of host migrations. Seems that when people are losing they drop out. Much more than Xbox.

laggy and glitchy host migrations.. yes that is black Ops for sure. They made a ton of cash off it at least give us better servers for it.

Hacked mine to 10th 3 weeks after it came out. lol

Back Ops monitoring is to crazy, we had a whole lobby full of friends and boosted 6 levels. The next day I had to start from the begining. Plus there seems to be a new patch every week or so. Plus if i get online and try and play with friends it says there stuff (very technical lol) is out of date. They all have to log off and back on to update so we can all play togeather. That really sucks

Personally, I'm glad they are stopping boosting and hacks. That being said, the amount of patches and ever present glitches in the game nullify complete enjoyment of the game even on PS3, the worst thing I have had happen is host migration failing so I am not worried.
Also, as far as I know there aren't servers persay, you connect to the person in the lobby with the best Internet connection available.

On singleplayer, I cleared out a room and then nothing happened. A door was supposed to open but I sat there for five minutes and then restarted my x-box.

Seems like something nutty is going on tonight, I think the system got hacked. For a while I couldn't stay in a match, either the lobby kept closing or it would do multiple host migrations at the beginning of matches only to lose connection to server. Now it seems like there are several players that are unkill-able. No matter how much you unload into them they won't die, and when you respawn and unload again, when they should be weakened they still will nail you with only a few shots. Got annoying and quit for the night.

nothing sucks more when you are on level 18 for zombie and the game freezes....once it unfreezes, you notice game over....ugh

black ops multiplayer is okay...not a big fan of purchasing the weapons or voting for maps....i prefer the Modern warfare 2 style of things

Thats why you need an Xbox 360. Because they NEVER EVER break.

Mine constantly freezes up waiting for the match to start. Also all the damned connection interuptions! UGHHHH.
