Best Mjolnir 2019

Jus received my cattoys Mjolnir and it’s awesome. The handle is multi-piece... one straight pipe with the chevrons and leather pieces being separated. The chevrons were on the wrong direction so I switch them to the correct way.
The metal did have a paint/coating to it that I sanded off. Looks ten times better imho. I will post pics soon.

I always thought the Cattoys handle was a single piece of leather. Got a picture of it?

Here are a few pics really quick at work.
All I did to this so far was flip the chevrons and sand the whole thing down and removed the layer of paint from it. It’s pretty heavy. I didn’t expect it to be this heavy. I have to weigh it to see exactly how much it weighs.
Next step is to grind the edge into it.... might have to explore different options for this step !

So, to be clear, as I'm seeing several of the same comments of "...not as accurate...", "...more accurate.." and "...accurate size compared to...", what is the actual movie prop dimensions? Are most people basing comparisons off of a screen shot from the movies?

I dunno. I'm going off what the consensus here says. the two accurate ones are the King arts and the Hasbro.
King Arts is metal and is the most accurate in size.
Cattoys is apparently 20% smaller then the actual movie size one.
Not downplaying anyone's info but to my eye, the cattoys looks good for ragnorak and Endgame. To me the only thing the cattoys one needs is the edge that is missing before the runes down slope (you can see the pic that I used for an example on a page or two back)
right now I'm either hand filing it or sanding it to get that edge. I took it to a machinist and they said it would be a lot of money because of the set up.
I did have an idea about making a "sleeve" around the whole thing that would give the edge. I would have to JB weld it on but it would give that look still. I hope this makes sense.

Bought a couple of this on ali express for $100 Including the base. But I think the handle is way too thin and I hated what they did to the Legends one Im thinking of a full repaint to make it look more metallic

See, I like the look of it from one side, but then the other side with that plastic seam just kills it for me. Still don't understand where the size differences come from and what these companies and makers of props here are basing their measurements on. All I want is something that looks good, I could care less in the end if it's 2 cm short or long.

The size differences are based from COMPARING all the different ones mentioned here.
EFX, King Arts and The Marvel Legends match the movie prop exactly in size.
EFX is actually from the same moulds as the Avengers prop. But has the Avengers details which changed in Avengers 2/ Dark World and has pretty much stayed the same through to End Game.
King Arts has the correct stitching on the strap which i don't think is replicated anywhere else.

So all references to size come from that fact.

Cattoys/ Gmask etc are about 15- 20% smaller than those hammers- they looks great in pics but once you have and hold one you will notice its undersized in all aspects. And if you also own one of the above hammers, or have owned one of the above hammers its something you will have to get past, the fact its small. If you haven't you may not notice it beyond the feeling of the hammer being smaller than you'd expect.
The runes on them aren't exactly right and are a combination between Avengers and Avengers 2. Handles are short and thinner also.
Other than that they are fine.

What grit sand paper did you use to remove the paint?

Wow that King Arts replica is a real beauty.. I'd love love to have that on my wall.. Even though it would just serve as a wall decoration, the idea that it's actual metal and to have that weight in your hands making it feel more real, then just having a toy in your hands.. and it's movie accurate, and for me that's also a big deal (don't laugh, but I'have tourette, so symmetry, accuracy and detail is quite a thing for me..) I can find a few still online, but as a set for around $600.. that way to expensive for me.. :-(

I'm trying to get a marvel legends hammer instead so that I can strip it, improve it, and repaint it, but in the Netherlands they're almost impossible to get anymore.. However, I do see pre-orders poping up on several sites.. Are they planning to produce more?? Could anyone confirm?

Thanks!

I would suggest saving for a King Arts. I bought the cattoys one.. it was awesome but the small inaccuracies annoyed me so I sold a few things and saved the money and got the King Arts one. I am out to sea now but I got notice it arrived at my house! I cant wait to get home and see this thing of beauty everyone raves about!

Ended up sealing the deal on a king arts Mjolnir. First this I did was strip the paint, rough it up, added some gun bluing to it to give it the worn in metal look and darken it up a tad.
I made a aluminum end piece to cover the screw.
I am having a bit of difficulty taking it apart. I found the 4 screws that need to come out but nothing is moving and I don’t want to mess it up. I don’t want to fill it with cement or anything heavy so I was thinking maybe expanding foam to make it sound a lil less hollow. My apologies for the pics. Took them quick. Will post better ones soon.
