Batman the dark knight suit options questions

Hmmm I actually just got a response from them yesterday, they offered to refund me as we'll, but they also said they took to many orders and just can't keep up

My tracking number finally updated (only took them 2 weeks :rolleyes ) and the cape looks like is on its way. I don't appreciate having to chase after them but at least it's on its way.

The Hk suit just seems much more detailed and clean looking, also not sure if this is true for every suit but I think the leg segments on my suit are a little too thick they definitely don't bend very easily can barely go up a few steps cause I can't lift my legs up more then a few inches. I absolutely love my hero cape from coofunkcurly I just got it, didn't have it for comic con can't wait to use it Thursday.

I have a GCFX mask/cowl that my 23.5 head struggles to fit into (despite it being for a 23.5" head) When I put the mask on, I have some small pieces of foal I have cut out to put around my eyebrows, which helps take the pressure off around the eyes some

Is there good (reputable) source for a slightly larger mask? HK?

Are any of you finding a need for shoulder pads to help give the suit some lift (again, GCFX setup here)

My GCFX suit, the armor pieces are flapping around. I'll have to take pictures. I ordered some 2P-10 and will wind up re-gluing some spots. I'm afraid they will peel off otherwise

The locktite professional glue seems to hold pretty well but I really put it on thick. At comic con I wore the suit for ten hours and all I had was one piece on the back of my right leg was starting to peel off but I just brought a tube of glue with me and fixed it right there. It only hurts a little when you glue it to yourself :)

It's been mentioned several times on this thread, search for coofunkcurly and his FS thread, best wearable cowl on the market and sized larger than the tiny GCFX cowl.

I've heard the HK cowls are not that comfortable either.

I'd avoid Fan Universe for the time being. I ordered a cape from them about 2 months ago and they haven't even shipped it out yet. They do return emails within reasonable time and have offered a full refund throughout the process, but lately they haven't been responding to my inquiries and I'm inclined to take them up on their refund offer considering how long the cape is taking.

I'm also not the only person who's been having issues with them lately.

I noticed their site doesn't work and no updates to their Facebook page in quite some time. Same with their eBay listings. It looks like the last auction they had, they stiffed the buyer.

I
Did it arrive? What you think of it? I bought the Cape too (amongst others of their items) and really loving it be interested to know what others think! :)

I got what I paid for. It's a $100 cape so I wasn't expecting much and I was going to use this as a beater cape. The fabric isn't even close to my SA cape from coofunkcurly, but the cape is cut correctly at least and it looks ok generally speaking. While I think their pricing is fair I wouldn't ever buy anything from them ever again, too long of a delay with eyebrow-raising excuses and poor communication during October. Also their eBay scores and practices are suspect, looks like they're shill bidding their items, so I don't put much faith in their eBay rating, at least not for their US account.

funny that batmanisking's overly positive review is now deleted after we figured out he was actually Fan creations universe. lol
and all of his posts on the RPF are deleted.

Thanks for the kind comments and recommendations, gents. I will start up a new JY thread for cowls tonight. Didn't realize there was still some interest. ;)

third3ye, does their cape pattern seem to be identical to mine? Many people have reverse engineered my capes for the pattern and while that sucks not much I can do. Nobody has gone through the expense and effort to replicate the fabric and that is the most important differentiator with mine. Until you see and touch it up close you cannot appreciate how proper the sheen is and how unbelievably lightweight it is. Which is important in terms of wearability.

Nope, they didn't copy your pattern at all. Theirs is cut like a normal cape (not stitched panels) and just added the v-cut on the back.

Thought I'd chime in, since I own a GCFX suit.
I actually need padding in the GCFX cowl, but I have a fairly small head (around 22"). I also have too thin gauntlets in some area, which is leading to some tearing, the belt is not right, and it sags a little bit due to its weight indeed. So I did replace the cape, which isn't bad but not perfect at all by the perfect Coofunkcurly's one, and kept the GCFX as a stunt cape, and also replace the belt by a coofunkcurly's one.
BUT I must say that for the price I paid, I'm glad with my purchase, it's fairly accurate, full urethane and came on an accurate mesh suit too.
I would swap the boots and gloves by UD ones if they ever let europeans buy them, and if I could find better gauntlets, I'd probably replace my current ones too.
I was entertaining the ideas to replace the currently painted carbon parts of the suit by real carbon parts, like HK actually does on it's 9K+ suit, but I cannot shell out the 1K he quoted me for a carbon kit, nor am I sure I want to...
All in all, I'd say HK is the best one out there regarding accuracy, GCFX is a cheaper alternative, but like most things, you can't have something better for a cheaper price... If you don't care about your suit not being in urethane/latex like the movie one, then go for the UD, it's your safest bet for quality and delivery.

So people know gcfx TDK bat suit is a recast of HK suit and they are banned from the rpf
The owner is a scammer doing charge backs on several members here after his got the item in hand.
