Batman Red Hood UK

Cheers, dude. I've been a little slow at moving forward with the second build. I'll make a 5mm foam version too, I want to make a hinge at the rear so the helmet is snug, and doesn't look bulky as the first one I made did. Its just working out where to put it, using magnet and so it looks as unnoticeable as possible. A bit of trial and error again.

Well all the plates are done and finished.
2xsets of 3 steel boot plates(which attach to laces)
1xsteel legplate
1x jacket customized (tried to make as similar to anime jacket, stiffened collar etc)
will put pics on later today

Hopefully finish pep build and resin by tuesday
Make new knife from PVCfoam and sheathe
Bought Neodymium magnets and a small brass hinge for helmet. I know there is no hinge, but making it so the helmet fits snug and will try to make the seal as unnoticable as possible, should be done by the weekend

The steel plates set plus green(anime movie) eye mask made by 4thWall Design( Laban/ Fishybob).
Girlfriend is working on a full length zip for grey top and jacket tonight. good times

full zip done for grey top and customized collar on jacket to be a little bit more in line with anime movie Red Hood, pep nearly finished for helmet, hopefully more pics tonight

Really like the jacket. The metal pieces should also look really authentic and cool. Can't wait to see the finished suit.

Pep done of the Red Hood version 2 buy Blackkaos. Think I made things difficult for myself by upping the amount of fold line, hey ho, a lesson learnt. Body filler and sanding should still rectify this. I placed some structure support inside before starting the resin coat :) The helmet is currently being resinned, bodyfiller tomorow night after work

You used cardboard for structure support? Looks really good, I like those chrome plates! You think those guys can do full gauntlets?

Looks good still. Nothing a little sanding won't fix. That's why I keep the folds to a bare minimum because the natural bend or curve of the paper if possible is better then a bunch of bends that you have to sand.

The support you did is way better then what I do but I also add extra support to my pep files.

Just a little tip: I only resin the outside or inside, one at a time and let them dry before doing the other. It helps the paper not to get soggy and warp. I hope that helps? Good luck!

cheers for the tips. The supports are cut from a corrigated plastic comic box I bought and didn't like, so I measured the opening size I needed & made the spacers accordingly before resinning. The helmet does fit on my head, I thought it would be sensible. I want to add a hinge flap at the back where the rear groove runs, I have some neodymium magnets for locking. I will sand so its as unnoticalble as possible. Will post more pics tomorrow night. Thanks for the feedback.

i can not make out anything thats wrong with version 1 but before you throw it away, you know where to send it ;)
Cheers, not sure if I'll be throwing it away yet, its my 1st project, will keep you in mind dude. Not sure how much postage would cost to Austria?
If I did give up the 1st version a charity donation would be appropriate I think? HA:UK raise money for Make a Wish Foundation UK, I would give 100% to them or Cancer Research UK.

I will ask tuesday for you. It was my girlfriends brother who made all the plates, her dad has a workshop, builds vehicles and replica weapons for WWI & II re-enactments in the UK.

Not the best of resin/fiber-glassing. body filler should rectify this, cross fingers. I could'nt cut the eye holes out as it was 22:30hrs when it dried.
Too late to be noisy for the neighbours. Body-filler whole, setting at present.

Apologies Blackkaos, its Scott Snyder(DC52 Batman) at Kapow, I was kinda disappointment when I rechecked. Got the Scott bit right :) will still get a picture.

Body filller done. Unfortunatley due to work and late evening I have to wait till tomorow to do all the sanding, dremel eyes out and hopefully paint.

Here's the unfinished redhood 2. I rushed it so I'm going to start from scratch again. I didn't cut the eyes out before bodyfilling etc. Pep again. pic of the shaped mirrored lenses and newly covered knife sheathe. I used my 1st helmet at Kapow2012, still went down well. pics added nest.
