Bandai release schedule

The Japanese toy company テンヨー is releasing a Zorii's Y-wing fighter, which suggests its a unique ship rather than a resistance one. And apparently the old empire & emperor is back and the Sith TIE is his.

New trailer is out. Looks promising, IMHO. Step up from TLJ at least. But most important: nice shot of Blockade Runner -- which give me a little hope Bandai will offer a larger scale version if the movie does well.

I'm cautiously optimistic.

I'll take a JJ ROTJ remake over the Last Jedi

If nothing else it will be like the Force Awakens as far as tugging the nostalgia strings

As far as the blockade runner goes, here's hoping that the digital asset doesn't make any big mistakes or changes from the original miniature. Or if there are changes, that they'd be done in a way that Bandai easily could offer parts to swap out, like a slightly different radar dish or something. A 1/350 kit would be a nice size -- not too big, not too small, not too expensive. Fingers crossed.

I'm willing to bet the Rise of Skywalker kits we've already seen will be all she wrote.

Likely true, but a lot can depend on how the movie is received and how well it does financially. If Disney anticipates strong revenue when the movie goes to video, they could pop out extra product as part of a marketing push. And, of course, with Star Wars there is built-in longevity to the brand (individual mileage may vary). The nice thing about a blockade runner is that it kills two birds with one stone. It's in the new movie, but it's a highly-prized OT vehicle as well -- not to mention the first Star Wars ship ever to appear on screen. I'd like to think that makes it a tempting subject for both Disney and Bandai.

I hope so. I'd definitely get one. I have the vehicle model of it. It's cool, don't get me wrong, but I'd love a bigger one.

Star Destroyer: Now with 50% more giant cannon on its belly!

Disney...

Is no one questioning the fact, that the remnants of the Death Star, which exploded in the orbit of the forest moon Endor, are suddenly resting in a giant ocean?

Endor has oceans.

More like large lakes. I thought the DS was obliterated in RoTJ. Of course there is the story where chunks of it fell to Endor killing all life. I guess that happened after the party.

Also, something that big can't soft land on a planet.

If the movie canonizes the death of the Ewoks, maybe I will go see it. :p Knowing lazy writing, it's probably a 3rd DS.

Those motes heading planetward are kilometers across chunks of refined metal.

But at the same time, the official, post-Disney-buyout story is that the Rebels set up shield generators and tractor beams to protect the Ewoks.

Recognizable chunks of space shuttle Columbia survived re-entry and ground impact, so it's not farfetched that much larger chunks of a Death Star could survive. Even if 90% of the station completely vaporized into gas, the remaining 10% is still a lot of material to make it to the surface. There are worse crimes of physics and plausibility in Star Wars.
