Back to the Future Part II

Interesting. It's possible they could not secure the rights a second time, or lost their originals... It was 25 years ago.

Wow, thanks. Where is this from? It's not a scan of the printed paper. And do you know if the "Gang Jailed" is also available in this quality?

Sounds like something "official" work... ;)

It is.

I donated all of the Hill Valley Telegraph newspapers that were given out yesterday at We're Going Back.
Almost all of them were made from actual prop scans that I meticulously restored and cleaned up.

Because USA Today made their own version of the BTTF papers for an 'offical' release and for WGB, I was
unable to use those specific scans for a replica. I've made a promise to keep all the reference material private,
and to not share it or reuse it for any reason.

If I were to continue working on a replica, it might appear as though I was somehow using these scans to create
an unauthorized reprint for my own personal gain. So I can't do that. But I'm confident that Roland has the skills
to come up with something really impressive, even without my assistance. :)

I've cleaned up this thread from sales talk and OT chat. Please keep this thread about FREE PAPER PROPS from BTTF2 and use one of the multiple threads ongoing in the Props/Costumes sections to discuss other things about BTTF2. Thanks! :)

Strange that yout were able to find such a hi-res version. I looked through google to see if I can find the link soruce for that and couldn't come up with anything.

Yeah, me either. I got it from some image board or site I'd never heard of. Seems to be the real deal, however.

Here is one: http://s3.amazonaws.com/images.hitfix.com/assets/9668/back-to-the-future-2015-usa-today-cover.jpg (This one even has a better JPG quality - look at the blue background of the logo)

This one is also a little bigger. Only a matter of time till we find something larger lol. Makes me wounder if the original file is somewhere. On another note, I think the front page they used for the Youth Jailed paper might have been a rasterized image, because looking at the paper, the text is sliglity blured with dots typical of when you print a JPEG file sometime, where the rest of the paper is clean printed text.

I'm beginning to suspect they may have scanned a hard copy of their originals & rebuilt the entire thing... You wouldn't create halftoned images in your publishing software, that's done automatically before printing. Additionally, some of the pics are halftoned and some are not. Apparently they had a high-quality original photo of the 'art museum,' but not Marty Junior. Interesting. I would have loved to go even deeper behind the scenes on this. This may be the coolest newspaper ever printed :)

It's gotta be the cheapest "Official" replica prop ever made. $2!

I went looking for one Thursday after work – no dice. Still on the fence.

Yeah, considering the Ultimate Viusal History back had the source photograph for the Gang Jailed newspaper.

I think he meant to say "book" not "back". But here is the photo from inside the book. I'm sorry for the glare on the left side. If you need a better quality, I can remove the page from the book and scan it for you.

Yeah, I meant book. The photo cuts off the right side though, keeping it from being a complete photo lol. But still, I found it strange they had they original photograph for that but not the one for Mary Jr's arrest.

EDIT: On closer inspection, the photo is slighty different then the one used on the prop. Note Griff's face, both his eye brows are fairly leveled while the prop has the right eye browed raised significantly.

I already ordered the book. Just waiting for the delivery. Thanks anyway. :)

Unfortunately it's not exactly the same photo as the one that was used for the newspaper. :(

Best two images I can find are these, but they both have slight watermarks,
