Back to the Future II 2015 Jacket Build NEW VIDEO JACKET pg 27!!!

Re: Back to the Future II 2015 Jacket Build

Pehaps, but in your pic the "grey" fabric seems be black to, or a very dark grey !

For me the essential thing is to be closer than the movie look !

Your red on your jacket looks much more brighter pic you put up. If its 'like for like' your looking for, might wanna change it ;)

The belts an cuffs are defiantly black. Just like the red looks more vivid in some scenes more that others. The belt can look more grey than black in some light.

Re: Back to the Future II 2015 Jacket Build

Any chance you can sell the red material? If not i hope Gary is available. I'm trying to buy his test pulls. I got this friend who works at universal here in Orlando as a seamstress and she does a lot of the characters outfits (none Bttf related sadly) and she tells me she could pull the jacket off no prob, only thing is getting that red material, we went to a few of her local spots yesterday and obviously couldn't find anything close. So I've got a girl who can do the bellows, the liner, the belt and cuffs but no red material. Somebody help me out!

Heeere we are!
Search Results for*flexible tube*at The Home Depot

It says most are in stock at my local spot. i've also bought this to try out my own version Camco 10' Standard Sewer Hose: Automotive : Walmart.com
it works great! lightweight, flexible, and glues to fabric. the downside is that the inner coil is copper and need really good shears to chop thru it. I removed the inner coil and just used the cover. I'll snap some pics soon and show my SLEEVES i altered on a regular jacket :) more details on those later

I feel we're taking steps backward with this one.

Re: Back to the Future II 2015 Jacket Build

I'm doing a simple budget build, if i had the skills i would definitely be doing a 100% accurate one or add 100% accurate pieces to existing jackets. Speaking of which, the light covers are the eggcrate shaped ones, correct? So u just have to pour the latex in and pull off a accurate piece?

Re: Back to the Future II 2015 Jacket Build

This may be completely wrong, but is there any chance they made the jacket sleeves of cloth, then spray painted it with Plasti-Dip? I recently spray painted Plasti-Dip inside a helmet and got similar results. Just curious if it could work.

I have found that putting plasti-dip on something that seeings rubbing is not a very good idea. I had it start to peel up pretty quickly when I used it to coat an armrest on a car. I wonder if the spray-able truck bedliner might be a little more wear resistant, or if it would be too stiff.

The difference between the red part fabric and the belt, it's just that i have not another choice to have a closest material (for the red part) . For the belt, it's easy, if i want black belt, just use paint and my belt will be black !

Re: Back to the Future II 2015 Jacket Build

Na not yet. Just waiting for some custom clamps to be made so I can get it all glued together. But I have an update on all the other bits. I've had a quote through from a CNC guy, said he can make me a mold, with all the parts in it for £600.

Re: Back to the Future II 2015 Jacket Build

not much of a contribution to this thread, but still relevant investigation material, heh.

The Belting Material was also used in 2015 George's "Ortho-Lev" back inversion device. Just thought i'd share.

edit** I also Spy the same Cuff material used on the Arm Device of "Data" from Griff's Gang.

Not sure if this has been posted on this thread but this is what they used for the cuffs and jacket trim.

Looks like the bellows have been sorted then :)

Last night I needed a break from all things MAG, so I started on this.

attachment.php

attachment.php

It is not finished yet. Yes it is made from the same mesh all my MAG stuff is made from, hence the colours. This is only 2 levels and it compresses down to just over 1/4" and expands to almost 3". When it is done, it will be 4 levels, so should expand to over 6" (I hope).

The ID is 5.5" and OD is 7.5". This size is perfect for my elbow, but a bit too small for my shoulder. I would probably need an ID of 9~10" to be comfortable.

The point being, this is very easy construction, just have sewing takes time. If this idea was duplicated with fabric on a machine it would much faster and it could even be covered in a thin film of rubber later on.

Anyway, thought I would share.

Interesting. Does your technique allow expansion? I just finished sewing the 2nd layer of the mesh bellow and from fully compressed depth of about 3/8", it expands out to just on 3".
