AVP - why didnt scar react

In AVP 1 when scar got face huggerd why didnt he seem bothered when he came too there was no reaction the the fact that he had been infected with the alien also wouldnt have the other predators have been able to tell its just little details like these that confuse me

also wouldn't the predator ships have internal senors when the hybrid was loose in AVP 2 wouldn't it have tripped some kind of warning system for instance if the face huggers escaped somehow out of their tubes

its just something i think about everytime i see the film

I also wondered why scar didnt react but I do not think there was a problem with the ship not having sensors. I mean that makes since but at the same time why would it have it? Perhaps tehy don't have them? Maybe they didn't equip that ship with them? There are lots of reasons why the ship didnt have it just like there are lots of reasons i could have had one too. So only thing that really bothered me is that he didnt react to waking up knowing a facehugger got him.

(especially when I always wanted to become a director) and that movie just killed it. But now that I think of it, I am glad AVP2 sucked **** (a little glad actually) since there wont be anymore AvPs to speak off. So, when I do become a director (hope to god) and that will be atleast 30+ years later, I will make a REAL one.
But, sorry to get really off topic and to go on a tanget about me but it pisses me off.

hmm well all I can say as at leased scar didnt get hit by a tree, or get pwned by a human with his own pred disc he lost, scar died by a queen, yah he let his guard down and got faced hugged but you cant be invisible all the time. Overall scar did a better job then any of the preds did before him, even pred1, pred2. He did team up with a human..and? I have read the comics and preds and humans, especially the females always team up, so keeping it like the comics not a problem with me.

I guess sitting in a tree, shooting your plasma cannon off for a majority of the time, and then being out skilled and pwned by a tree trap by a steroid human is what you call honor..hmm, Rather fighting it out as a teenager with barely any experience and going up against a queen isnt..ok dokie gotcha lol. Ohh and I might add running around a city hunting guys who are drugged out majority of the time, then running back to your space ship and being pwned there by a guy who can barely run 5 ft and who takes your predator disc and kills you with it is alot of honor aswell hmmm ok.

Celtic got cocky real cocky and thats why he fell. I don't see why people keep saying Scar was a pussy, just because he was aided by a human? He got sloppy and got nailed by a facehugger, is that what killed him? no he was taken out by a queen, and the only weapons he had was his blades which he shot into her head, I'm guessing he lost his shuriken when he was nailed by he tail, and the spear was broken off inside her head. I would like to see the P1 or P2 do as good as scar did with such limited weapons. The fact is you guys are judging the AVP preds against the P1 and P2 preds which in my earlier statement, it's unfair to do because they were hunting two totally different species. Yes AVP did have MAJOR plot holes, but when you get down to thinking about it "Why didn't the preds have some kind of scanner to tell them that Scar had a alien inside of him?" Um it's really simple its so they could set up for AVP-R. Thats my 2 cents don't take it as me hating against P1 or P2, I loved them both, and I liked both AVP movies so please don't take this paragraph the wrong way.

Maybe it's the same with predators.
He should have killed himself, and the ship should have had sensors, but it didn't.
If it did, there wouldn't be a second one or anything and there wouldn't be anymore intergalatic violence.
Sure AVP wasn't very well written, but it was a bit of fun.

Well said dude. All what you say I completely agree with. All in all yah all 3 preds P1,P2,scar all had different situations. We are all pred lovers here so they all get our support, they all did an awsome job, they all diserve respect and honor, but as for me I respect Scar, yah he got careless and didnt relize his surroundings and was taken by a facehugger but I do salute him for being a "teenager" predator with minor skills and being able to fight off with a queen, she was no arnie, she was no horrigan, she was nasty to the end, and scar got it in the end like all the rest of the preds. Its a shame that our beloved predators never survive a fight "cry". P1 has my love, P2 has my love and scar has my love, they all do.

its obvious that the predator films are way better than AVP 1 or 2 i just wish the studio had not let Richard Anderson ( i tihnk thats his name) near the franchise i mean he refers the the predators as disappointing in regards to the plasma caster and the predator looked like a guy in a rubber suit, and this is they guy who claims to have watched the predator films millions of times and he's bitching about it i personally think they were awesome one of if not the best sci fi films out even compared with todays films foxshould have just made one of the AVP comics, i know AVP was based on one but based on isnt good enough in my opinion

Why is everyone hating on Harrigan and about how old he is. Danny Glover is BADASS and thats why he was able to kill P2!
Also, I think that maybe its true that P1 killed the dudes with his shoulder cannon but, look at it this way; Arny's team had a grenade launchers, grenades, a friggin minigun, an M60, and enough auto-matic rifle power to take down who knows how many figures of something.
So, the fact of the predator just having a plasma caster as his only projectile shows that he aint being no pussy! Furthermore, its not that he couldnt kill them face to face (for example Blain) but its the fact that he did kill someone (who has probably killed many in his time) which brings him honor. I know there are probably flaws in what I am saying, but, i guess that P1 was SOO expirienced that he didnt need to test himself OR Blain's ability to gain a skull.
Anyway, about Scar; he was pretty cool when he defaced that alien BUT! Look at friggin Wolf, he was literally playing with those aliens. The amount of skill difference is huge. So, Though scar deserves respect (i guess) he aint bad ass at all.... in fact I can imagin P1, or P2 doing as good or nearly as good as wolf.
furthermore, look at scar's blades! They were like a billion feet long! And look at wolf, in most shots they were as long as P2's or P1's (though his were a little longer)
So my point is, P1 and P2's badassness are proven through Wolf's blades...

Alright... first off, Scar. There's one very important detail that's been forgotten. Now, I've seen some good points, but they've all passed over the (oddly enough) obvious. The Predator creatures armor themselves in a way that protects their vulnerabilities. Their chest is protected. Their knees and shins are protected. Their arms to some extent are protected. Their backs are protected... and their NECKS are protected by a collar as it's obviously a soft spot for them. Oooooooooooooooooooooh!

Now I want all of you to do something now. Think back to the movie "Alien" and what happened when they tried to remove the face-thumper from Kane. Remember now. Go on... go. That's right, the tail constricted around his neck. Now this is an event that I'm way more than sure that the writer for AVP forgot, or chose to ignore. Now, my theory is this - the tail wraps around the neck of it's victims before it grips the head with it's finger things. So what's to stop a Predator from just ripping it off of his face? Especially if theirs no chance of strangulation due to the NECK COLLAR. Also, Paul W. Anderson thought it would be alot "creepier" if the hosts were semi-conscious during impregnation. Completely ******* Kane and how he was put into a C O M A by the creature. For ***** sake, watch the movie! It's on StarZ like 3 times a week. ****. Aliens too! Anyhow, so he (Scar) neglected to rip the parasite from his face, and instead gave in. Well... that kinda sounds like a quitter to me. A big mushy-push fairy quitter puss. In the scene where he and Lex are running from the blast, Lex is actually out running him. Ian was probably wearing way too much **** that he was just exhausted - and no one paid any attention to this.

You can say what you want to about AVP. And I will. Although the production values were much, much higher than AVP:R, it was a bad, bad, BAD movie. I would and will watch AVP:R before I ever watch AVP again.

Here's a thought... stuff your "Code of Honor" crap. Predator was THE first movie. This movie is the originator of all things Predator. And it was made years before the comic books came out and tried to establish the creatures as having some kind of "Honor Code." In the movie Predator, Dutch says something about "no sport." The difference between "Sport" and "Honor" is that one is fun and the other is not. The Predator was here for fun. He was killing marines and guerillas for fun. He killed all of Dutch's comrades for fun. He was having a blasty! If anything he was more of a monster than all of the AVP Predators combined. Creating this "Code of Honor" jive is just a loophole so that the human characters in the stories can feel safe. And all of the sudden he's not scarey anymore if you just curl up into a ball and cry for Momma. No, what is scarey is if he picks you up and splits you in two and then laughs. He's just not as evil with a set of limitations.

As far as Harrigan and Dutch being able to kill the Predators, well they had to. The bad guy couldn't win, and they had to find a way for each character to overcome the odds. And they did albeit in both cases kind of far fetched. That's just Hollywood for you.

It seems anyone who gets face hugged, goes into a coma...hence why Scar wasn't able to pull it off his face.

They didn't show a reaction to him getting face hugged, because it was the "surprise" ending of the film, that he indeed did get face hugged, because when he does---you actually never really see him get face hugged, your just left wondering if he did or didn't.

Personally, I think when scar woke back up and didn't react, it was more of a "I'm already going to die, but I will complete my mission and die with honor"
