A Very Productive Sunday
My Goal Here Is To Make The V3 Hilt, like it would be in ANH. Based on Halliwaxs V3 Theory.
Using a PPP Lineage Cast V3 Stunt
Going to be painted to ANH OBI Motorized Stunt Spec
Missing the Clamp and Accessories
Fitted with a Vintage D Ring.
Got the Hilt Painted in Flat Black in the correct areas. Now I have to paint match the windvane and neck!
I hope Halliwax ApprovesView attachment 1817592
No vector card in the v3Not sure where else to put this but this is a V3 theory thread so I believe it fits here.
DaveP's v2 and v3 run has had me thinking.
From what I understand, it's believed that the V3 on set had an ESB card. Is it possible that it did for the castings of the V3 but something happened to the card afterwards, and it was replaced with a vectorboard, which was then taken from it for the hero?
Interested to hear everyone's thoughts, thanks.
I feel like the silver traces on the ESB card would at least be slightly visible from an angle like this? It really does look like the gold goes all the way acrossNo vector card in the v3

It probably is the ESB type card though..

That is not the production v3 that is a resin stunt with the ESB board paintedI feel like the silver traces on the ESB card would at least be slightly visible from an angle like this? It really does look like the gold goes all the way across

Ah thank you. Didn't know for sure if that was the production v3 or a resin stunt. That is not the production v3 that is a resin stunt with the ESB board painted
Trust me.. 1000% not the vector
Yep, I'm absolutely seeing those traces now, just obscured by the angle.I speculate that the angle that Hamill is holding the hilt at obscures the smaller silver traces on the card.
But—it is possible that this is a replacement card, installed after filming was underway…anything is possible with these hilts.
Look at how much the V2 details changed, as filming was underway.
It could be “pixilation” that we are seeing, those are some pretty uneven / ratty looking trace lines on this card:

Good to know. Thanks.The
The casting of the V3 was taken as filming of ROTJ was underway and clearly shows the ESB style card in the clamp

Interesting that DaveP chose to go with a Vector for his Production run then
Normally, I'd agree with him. I'm trying hard here to see those traces in that Throne Room scene, I really am.
But then the R2 stunt has an ESB card. Just don't see it making sense to take it out after the cast was done, and then adding in a vector board. But like Dunsel says, anything is possible
