Avengers Movie Captain America Project

Got started painting up my shield today, with anodized spray paint. Here it is with Valor's 10" star roughly positioned on top. When curved, that star will be a PERFECT fit. Can't praise Valor enough for the work he did making me that star. Money well spent :p

Hey, just thought these pics might help, also I saw in another post you said you were putting 3 pouches on each side but if you look at this pic it looks like he has 4 on each side, anyway looking good so far dude cant wait to see the finished suit.

Y'know what, I think you may be right there dude. :p
Thanks for the pics. At least I've not actually started putting together the fabric portions of the suit yet, so nothing's been finalised there. I'm still trying to figure out exactly how to make the belt pouches.... I'm thinking fabric over foamies.

Just put the blue on there, and now the shield's looking that little bit closer to finished :)

Still gotta attach the star properly, then clearcoat the whole thing. Might have to buff the paintjob before I do any of that though.

I've just received my helmet, courtesy of Maulfett, REALLY happy with the pull.

I'll be trimming the mold-flashing soon and I'll get a pic of what the helmet looks like on. Once I'm happy with that, I'll fill in any minor airbubbles from the pull, paint and seal it. I'm extremely excited.

Hi definatly gonna keep an eye on this build. you have an awesome eye for detail. Im contemplating an avenger thor build.

I got the same helmet from Maulfett. Awesome work he did on it. Just got done reshaping it for my head and brow and finished the wet sanding. Also got that star from Bamabat. Make sure to use flexible paint on it or it will crack.

Finally got around to starting to sew the main fabric part of the suit. I'm starting with the stomach of the jacket, and working my way up, then I'll get the hood and trousers done.

I've also made some progress on the gauntlets, using a pair of Oakley SI tactical gloves as a base. I'll be painting the glove itself red, and adding a blue suede patch to the palm, as well as velcro closures to the armour part itself.

Oh and here's the finished front to my aluminium shield, as well as the urethane helmet I'll be wearing. It's a recast I made of Maulfett's resin helmet, as the resin one didn't fit right. I need to find a decent method of painting up the urethane.

I want to be clear, that I only recast the helmet to make the one urethane rubber pull for myself, as Maulfett said he couldn't do it for me. I am not the kinda person to ever pass off someone else's work as my own.

Just gotten started on the utility belt pouches. They're practical pouches, using two velcro dots as a closure. Scaled using photo reference to be the right size. Funnily enough, each pouch fits and iPhone really comfortably. :)
