Just seen it. Utterly brilliant.

Nearly lost it during Tony's funeral, I could hear actual sobbing in the theatre.

I loved how they kept trashing Back to the Future, but were pulling a total Back to the Future 2 throughout the whole 2nd act. Awesome idea.

Time travel in any movie can be pulled to bits, its not really worth dissecting. It was done more than adequately here.

Bro Thor, was hilarious and I'm glad they kept him that way til the end. I thought there was going to be a comedy training montage at some point, glad they didnt.

I liked prof Hulk, but wish they'd had him get full angry during the last battle, if even only for a moment or two.

Looking forward to see where they take it from here.

Captain America deserves this happy ending after all he's been through. Cap finally gets to fondue.

Great character moments are a hallmark of the Russos, Markus and McFeely. One of the best was Natasha hearing that Barton was on a killing spree - the knowing, tearful look on her face implying she’s seen him in this awful place before.

I can’t even count all moments that made me tear up. There’s Stark hugging Parker, meeting with his dad, Rogers seeing Peggy again and, of course, the last shot of the movie. Natasha telling Bart, “It’s OK” before she let go.

In IW after Peter and Gamora said, “I love you” (that “unspoken thing”) I was afraid there would be no more romantic tension. This is a very interesting solution, dialing back the clock.

I can appreciate the dilemma the Russos were having in cramming all this material into a single movie. They could have split this out into another movie (e.g. could have more Barton/Ronin) but fans would have rioted if there was an unexpected “to be continued” again.

Great reframing of GotG opening - Quill singing without the soundtrack. LMAO.

Scarlett Witch unleashed!

Nebula killing her old self.

“Hail Hydra”!

Where did Loki go with the Tesseract???!!!

How about that dual-wielding Thor?!!!

Cap’s shield broke just as foreseen by Stark in Age of Ultron.

GotG 3 - Asgardians of the Galaxy?

Cap lifting Mjolnir had everyone, including me, screaming. Biggest payoff in the entire MCU.

I’m watching it again today but it’s going to be even harder emotionally, I suspect.

Yes, that’s America’s ass.

I had a row of mouthy teenagers who couldn’t shut their damn mouths through any trailer. And here I look at them all wearing Endgame jackets looking like they’re there for the movie, but they’re just obnoxious saying stuff that I hope aren’t spoilers and they aren’t, but just talking theories. Then the Star Wars trailer comes up and it’s all quiet and one kid blurts, “Aw Daisy Ridley. She’s so beautiful.” I turned to them all at that point and chuckled through my nasty facial expression, “Are you guys going to talk through the whole damn movie? It’s opening night.” They quieted down pretty quick thankfully, but also by luck it turned out that 4 presold seats behind me were a no-show and was able to sit with my wife and son. The rows each had wall borders between them, donit drowned out most things going on in front of each other.

Anyway... loved the movie. It didn’t happen at all the way I thought and kept me guessing. I really loved Cap’s conclusion and deserved that after all he lost.

Three dudes showed up trashed and sat right in front of me. The kept yelling/narrating the entire movie. Jumping up and pointing at the screen “f- you!”, vaping and Snapchating the movie.

I said something three different times but they just flicked me off and kept up with it. The talked all through Tony’s funeral to an otherwise quiet theatre.

Needless to say that is my very last opening night screening for a movie and I’ll see it again so I can actually enjoy it a bit more.

Just back from seeing it myself. The film was spoiled for me beforehand, but I was taken aback that even knowing who died etc, that it still hit me emotionally when I saw them happen on screen.

I loved how the directors dealt with the two characters (Captain Marvel and Thor), who were set up as previously powerful enough to defeat Thanos. Making them relevant, but still making the entire Avengers team a big part of winning.

Strangely dusty in the cinema at times, which made my eyes water ;)

How time travel works in this movie:

Per Banner: you can't change your past
Per The Ancient One: removing an infinity stone splits the timeline.

Result:
4 alternative timelines are created. 1970, 2012, 2014, and Thor 2. 1970 and Thor 2 unfold very similarly to the original. 2012 has a free Loki escaped with the Space stone. 2014 has no Thanos or any of his followers.

Cap stabilises these timelines when he
He returns their infinity stones, but they continue to exist.

Cap then travels back to 1950 with no impact on any stones. This means he can't affect the timeline, he was always already there. Anything he does just causes events to unfold the way we saw them in the movies. He lives back until the present when he has Wakanda make him a new shield, that he gives to Sam.

This is why Peggy was so evasive about who her husband was. Covering up his real identity would be easy for the head of shield.

Just got back.
I'm going to have to see it a couple more times to let everything sink in, but I really couldn't be happier with it. Big payoffs all around.

"Instant kill mode" had me losng it. Talk about a callback.

Captain Marvel has some big shoes to fill going forward.

As we left, the wife and I couldn't figure out who one person at the funeral was. Right before the camera goes up the stairs to the house a lone young man is standing on the right side of the screen. We couldn't place him for the life of us. Anyone know who I'm talking about?

Tony's daughter! I about died.

Ok. Done for now.

Saw it for the second time tonight; started around 10:10pm and I was back home 03:00am:sleep:
Loved it all over again for all the same reasons and every same scene.Next week I'll go see it with my brother if he's up for it.
And guess what: no clip after the credits :cautious: half of the audience waited until the very end

I got a heads up on that from a friend that saw it before me. It was great, I was right out the door and out the car park while everyone else sat and stared at the credits.

I am a bit confused on the logistics of the MCU going forward. Is it 2023 now in Spider-Man FFH?
Does the new season of SHIELD take place during the decimation?

Saw it this morning. 1130 to 1430.

It was okay.

I mean. IT WAS ******* AWESOME!!! I was smiling so much through this movie, it hurt.

There were a couple of nitpicky things, but for this movie, and everything that led up to it, I completely forgive them.

I can NOT wait to see it again.

I saw it again last night and it wrecked me just as much as the first time. I was listening to the soundtrack this morning and when "The Real Hero" came on I started crying again as I replayed Tony's funeral in my head. Such a moving scene.

I really don't know where they're going to go from here, but I'm excited to see. With the Avengers facility destroyed, where do we think their new HQ will be? More importantly, with Tony gone, who is going to fund and design all their new equipment?? Will there even be an official team after this?

Even just thinking about how things will never be the same makes me sad

Great movie! For me I wish that I could see more of these characters in action however on the other hand better to go out at the top of your game and not go into the territory of making bad movies using these characters!

I'm more than happy with them not going any further with the Avengers films to be honest. It really felt like a great end for me for most of if not all the character arcs. I mean they have threads they could lead from, but I can't say I'm bothered (though others probably feel differently!) It reminds me of The Dark Knight Rises - I felt like yeah, that's done, the story has an ending. I don't need anymore.

(Saying that though, Dude Thor with the Guardians of The Galaxy will absolutely have my cash)

The MCU has felt like lightning in a bottle. I have no idea how they'd pull this off again - ten years of story telling and getting us to emotionally invest in a new set of characters again. An amazing feat.
