Assassin's Creed Revelations costume

Hey guys!! I'm having some trouble making props for my costume, like the belt. I've sen people sculpt it, but they never say what they sculpt it from. I was thinking of doing it with clay, but it's fragile. Ideas?

Also, I don't know what pattern to use for the hood. I have a bodice like in AC Brotherhood, where the hood attaches to the vest/bodice itself. Any patterns?
