Armorer Helmets, Hammers, and Armor Parts from the Mandalorian **HAMMER MOLD PICS ON PAGE 4**

Do these have a thin layer of the gold color that could be worn through if much buffing is done?

I dust the mold with goldtone powder prior to casting. The resin adheres to the powder, essentially prepainting the helmet. No buffing should be necessary.

I haven't seen your PM. I'll send you the details momentarily.

Did some work on mine or I should say my daughters, such a great helmet, great work!

Well done. Sir! This is the way.

If anyone else wants a helmet, please post here and I'll PM you with the details.

Have any of the rest of you managed to get your helmets painted up yet? If so, please post photos.

Also, it looks like I'll be making her armor and other parts. Would any of you like to get those as well?

and as always, if anybody else wants to get in on this run, please post here and I'll PM you with the details.

I've got mine partially rough trimmed, but need to clean it up still.

I was planning to pattern my own chest armor out of foam and then coating with resin. Being plus sized with a rather large chest, nothing pre-made ever fits. :)

If you are planning to make her hammer I would *LOVE* to get a cast of that from you, however. You'd save me a ton of time. I don't have handy access to a 3d printer, so everything I do I hand build. We have some great fabric stores nearby, so I've been hunting for just the right faux fur and other fabrics, though.

Welp, I've started on the next little thing. It's time to get hammered:

It came out a bit on the dainty side though. I'm going to re-print it after some mods to beef up the handle a bit:

I'm about the same height as the actress in the show, so I'm at least happy with the scale:

I'll post more pics of that piece as it comes together.

In the meantime, if anybody else wants a helmet, please post here and I'll PM you with details.

I've been painting mine this week. I might touch it up a bit more. But I'm pretty happy with it. And it does fit.

Amazing! I'd already picked up Sean's file before finding this thread. Does anyone know if he sent out an update to reflect the new back vent? I'd be interested in a helmet and armor for my better half if there is still room on the helmet run or an intrest list for future runs.

Great work.

Looking great so far.

If anybody else needs a helmet, please post a comment below and I'll PM you with details.

I received the helmet kit. It looks great and was well packed.

This will be my first time working on a helmet like this. For cutting out the openings, do you recommend a Dremel with cutting wheel followed by the rotary sanding drum and files?

I assume the inside should be painted before cutting out the openings.

Will you be selling the hammer too? I would buy a cast of that!

I will, but I need to work up a new, beefier model first.

You can use the cutting wheel, yes. If you've got a firm, steady grip, I'd recommend a tile cutting bit or a spiral saw bit. They have a tendency to walk a bit if you don't hold on tightly and cut slow, but you can get closer to the corners before you have to fine-tune the edges with sanding drums and files.

I'd hold off on painting the inside until you're done with all of the cutting. The middle layers of resin are tinted as close as I could get them to the gold of the helmet, but you'll still probably want to black them out when all is said and done.

Once you get everything all done, be sure to post pictures of the finished product. I love seeing these all put together.

I'll be selling casts of the chest, back, belt bits, hammer, and toe caps as soon as we get them molded.

In the meantime, post here if you'd like to get in on this run and I'll PM you with the details.

So this is aaaalmost ready to mold:

The back too:

Should I post a new sales thread for the other parts, or does it make sense to keep going here?

That's a great question, if you continue it here then change the title of the thread, to include Helmet and Armorer costume & props, or link us to the new thread but I like it here keeping it all in the family. Defiantly interested for my Daughter (HannaH), she's an adult and we build our costumes together.
Thanks it looks great!!

Is it still possible to get one? Beautiful helmet!

PM Sent. I'm still making these.

As of now, I'm also making the rest of the hard parts for this costume. Here's the first chest and back casts out of the mold:

I got a bit excited and decided to spray the final color on the chest despite the fact that I didn't do any prep work. Ended up with a few fisheyes in the paint, but I think it still looks good:

I'm planning on offering the two pieces of chest/back armor as well as the toe caps and belt greeblies for $480 plus shipping. A $200 deposit gets you on that list, with the balance plus shipping due once the kit is packed up and ready to ship.

Here's a pic of the belt details:

So the parts are all coming along, but kits are available now for everything but the hammer.

Here's where my assistant Rachel's outfit stands at this point:
