I think we got our ear cups from the same guy. I installed mine in my black series helmet.

I don't have editing software on my new computer yet to crop images but if you look at the full body promo pic of Luke you can see the ear caps.
Also screen shots of all the pilots during the DS run you can see them on the lower edges of the helmets.

I also think they probably had the ear cups, but that Biggs shot looks like the black trim had split and you are seeing the edge of the helmet, to me anyways.
