X-Wing helmet comparisons: Black Series Wedge, Disney Luke, and real APH-6B conversion

I went for the galaxy’s edge Luke helmet simply because of the retractable visor. That in and of itself was a major selling point for me. For the price point, it’s a pretty nice piece. It’s a bit snug, but I can still wedge (pun intended) it onto my gigantic noggin. (Ignore the ripped up shirt, I was in my lawn mowin’ clothes, lol)View attachment 1613032
You were mowing your lawn while wearing Luke’s helmet? Hopefully you were on a seated lawnmower to replicate the Death Star trench run experience.
I’m sure the neighbors were jealous of the helmet. Btw I have a huge noggin, so I don’t even attempt to wear any x-wing helmets in fear of cracking it in the middle.

Lol. I had just finished mowing when the mail wagon showed up with it.

Do you mind if I ask what the circumference of your head is? I am also cursed with a gigantic noggin and I’ve been wondering for a while if one of these would fit me.

I’m not sure what the exact measurements are, but I wear a size XL (7 5/8) hat typically. The helmet fits, but I have to reach up and tuck my ears into place. It’s a bit squished but there’s give in the fabric donuts that it comes with for padding. They’re also removable, and I’ve heard of guys doing that to get more room.

The actual prop helmets have a lot more room to play with than the Disney or Hasbro toy lines. All the added electronics in the toys make for a smaller head size restriction. But even with it all, its not bad to still fit a 7 5/8 with the padding installed. (y)(y)

Back to the topic of comparisons, another note about accuracy: the round dots of the Victory (or whatever) symbols? They're too big on the Black Series Wedge, and too small on the Disney Luke. They should be 3/4".

I missed this: the visor of the Black series has LEDs up at the top to light it up. Not present on the GE.
