Anyone seen "Returning to Jedi?"

Anyone seen this? I have "Building Empire" and "Deleted Magic" but forgot all about Jedi.

Anyway, you can watch it in segments on Youtube, if you haven't, check it out.

In the first section, they talk about the scene where Luke was supposed to build his saber in ObiWan's hut and complete it and put it into R2. They show footage of what seems to be the "actual prop" from that scene, it's a guy in a blue harvest t-shirt messing with a Luke ROTJ saber, that telescopes and collapses so you can see the guts, wires, etc, and the green crystal. I don't know if this is way old news or not, but that saber is all kinds of cool!:eek

Maybe whoever takes over the license from Master Replicas should think about making this one. I am officially in love!

I have Deleted Magic on dvd, but haven't heard of Building Empire or Returning to Jedi until now. I don't suppose they're available on dvd anywhere?

BTW, for anyone who hasn't seen the lightsaber footage, it's 5 minutes and 36 seconds into Part 1.

The general consensus is that prop was just built by Elstree and not actually for the movie. The footage is recent and just a fan handling it wearing a blue harvest shirt.

I wanted Building Empire and Returning to Jedi on dvd, so I joined the forum (originaltrilogy.com) and asked someone if they would burn me copies, and they did.

I just had to cover the costs of blank discs and postage.

Both Building Empire and Returning to Jedi are available on Demonoid and also MySpleen.JD did both these docs and is working on one for ANH which I am very much looking forward to as his work is always top notch.Real dedicated guy!Deleted Magic was not his project but is also a fantastic doc.
As far as that saber goes Chris is right.Elstree piece that they keep trumpeting as original when there is little,if any,chance that it was made for the production.Far too many discrepancies in both their story and the piece itself.

Hmm
I see like 2 seeders for these torrents, guess too much time has passed.
But researching their forum threads on these it looks like the dvds had a ton of extras that arent found other places or youtube. looks like more than 1 dvd per docu was done.
So Im still hoping someone will be willing to work something out w me to get these 3 documentary dvd sets.
Anyone in the US or overseas willin to Pm me w a suggestion

I'd really like to get my hands on the Wookiegroomer's HD rip of Empire. Just for the Yoda scenes in HD. It could be very helpful in regards to finishing my CGI Yoda. Sadly I think it's too late to download the files off of usenet...
