Anyone done a Supernatural hunter's book?

You got the Red Eyes which are both in human form and animal form. They are seen as all white or all black creatures with red eyes and only seen for enough time for your brain to register extreme fear and danger.

You got the Four Elemental Minators (spelled that wrong I know). They are only seen in their elements which is Fire, water, earth, and air.

The lady of the lake. Can use google.

A type of lost people called Elemental Fighters. Not much is known but that they fight with elements.

Hey Guys! So I began work on my Journal and I am loving it! I need some help though. I've decided to include a contact page with numbers referencing other shows and movies. In addition to numbers mentioned on Supernatural, I have The Halliwell residence (Charmed), Buffy's number (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Mick St. James (Moonlight), Harry Dresden, (Dresden Files), Massive Dynamic (Fringe), Ghostbusters hotline, and Peter Burke (White Collar). I am trying to find numbers from Fringe (Peter Bishop and Olivia Dunham's), Hellboy, Burn Notice (Sam, Fiona, or Michael), Psych (Shawn Spencer), and MIB. I think I may include a number from X-Files but are there any other numbers you think I should include?

Thanks!

~Josh

In general: Motels, locksmith shops, gun stores, junk yards, mechanics, crematory, medical supply wholesaler, sympathetic clergy-people, your favorite brewery, etc.

Specific - How about Orne Library @ Miskatonic Library? How about a runic line or two for 'calling' otherworldly helpers of some sort?

I like the idea of a "calling" ritual! thanks =]

Re: Anyone done a Supernatural hunter's book?

I'm making one too. Have been wanting to do it for a couple of years now, but didn't make the time for it until now.
Don't have the overal vission of how I want it to look yet, but I did start on making paper sheets look old, and weathered.
I'm only gonna include information from the actual show.

I'll post some pics when the project is a bit further along

I'll post some pictures soon. So far I have one entry done (Succubi and Incubi), a small evidence bag with label, my "intro", and most of my contact sheet. My next step is to figure out a way to brand a pentagram onto the cover. I want it too look like this:

If anyone has any suggestions of an easier way to make that, I'm all ears!

Well I can't get the picture of the cover you want to load, but I would say, either look for diaries with pentagram covers. (there are quite a few out there, in different sizes) and then either use the pages, or just take the cover off, and fill it with your own pages. Or, go to a place like Hot topic, or Spenser's gifts, any place that sells goth stuff, and get anything metal, that is the right size, and has a pentagram on it, and heat it up, and press it into a leather book cover. (just don't get it too hot, because a lot of that stuff is made of cast metal, and it could melt on you.) Or, you could take that found item, and using some very thin leather, you could wet the leather, and press it into the item, suing it as a mold. Let the leather dry, and demold it, and it might look ok, and if it takes, then it would look kind of embossed.

Here's the journal http://www.supernaturalwiki.com/index.php?title=Samuel_Colt's_Journal

I'm using a Moleskine journal which is apparently made of Moleskine oil
skin cloth.

I'm thinking of using this technique to make the pentagram: YouTube - Tutorial: Charmed Book of Shadows (Part 5)

Not sure if anyone's mentioned this, but there are two books that would be great for content reference! They're both official books from the show, and they're cannon, so it'd make the prop all the more authentic. The first one is called "Supernatural: John Winchester's Journal", and is written like the journal entries that would be in the hunter's book, and the second is "The 'Supernatural' Book of Monsters, Spirits, Demons, and Ghouls", which is sort of like a companion book for the show, which has listings and details of all the monsters they've encountered, and the inside pages have color photos and handwritten notes, made to loosely resemble the journal seen on-screen. Both would be good for written references, and the second might be good to cannibalize for photos. Here's links to both of them.

Hope this helps contents-wise. ^_^

Re: Anyone done a Supernatural hunter's book?

Yeh, totally agree...I love this book! Full of lots of info for a journal.

One day I'd love to somehow make a replica of the journal from the show. By that I mean what it looks like from the outside, then just keep filling it with all kinds of myths/legends info.

I've looked all over for a 3 ring leather journal in that colour or similar but with no luck.....anybody recently come across such like?

Re: Anyone done a Supernatural hunter's book?

I am new here, and I know this is an old thread, but I would like to post my pictures of my hunter's journal. I use it as a prop in my Supernatural RPG that I play.

The journal is full, so I have a lot more pics, if anyone is interested.

Re: Anyone done a Supernatural hunter's book?

I would love to see the contents of your book. I've been wanting to make a hunters journal of my own and would love to get some great ideas.

Re: Anyone done a Supernatural hunter's book?

I'm starting a custom hunter's journal too! Though rather than it being a random hunter, or original character, I'm making it as though it were Dean's. At the start of the series he thinks John's coming back, so my premise is he started it to copy down good info from John's book so when he found his Dad and gave him back his journal, Dean would still have the info, and then just kept going. Here are some pics of what I've got thus far:
