Ok, So i have recieved alot of messages on here and on my facebook about the sonic lipstick replica it is still a prototype as im working on the electronics still but i have some info that will help all of you that want to make your own. I have spoke to people at BBC and i've also spoken to QMX and Rubbertoe props who are the original prop makers and licence holders for the sarah jane and dr who as well as other BBC shows and after many months of communication they decided they wouldnt make the replica after originally they offered to commision me one for £1,000 which i'd of happily paid but for legal reasons they couldn't commision it so i started making my own i researched everything as well as lots of help from Nick Robbato and eventually i've made a almost perfect replica i will commison a run of these when i get the electronics sorted out but for the time being i will help you with parts so you can attempt it aswell. The lipstick casing is an Esee Lauder lipstick you can find it on ebay for £12 -http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ESTEE-LAUDER-Beautiful-Gold-Cased-All-Day-Lipstick-RICH-ROSY-NEW-/180740399347?pt=UK_Health_Beauty_Make_Up_Cosmetics_Lipstick_PP&hash=item2a14f7a0f3 (be careful estee lauder has 2 types of sarah jane lipsticks they have this 1 i purchased which is the exact one they used on show but they have a smaller version so make sure you purchase the lipstick that has the big ridges on the case not the small ridges).

As for the emitter i tried getting my friends who are metal engineers to make it but they couldn't succeed so instead i bought the (now very rare) toy version they cost between £40-£80 on ebay but were £5 when they came out and i had to carefully remove the casing which took a while i broke 4 of these lipstick toys before finally managing to remove the emitter and working electronics (which i'm now working on fitting them into the case and drilling a button hole for them)

It's been an expensive hobby and i've not completed it yet but when i have i will post a video to my facebook and pics to here i will also then make a limited run of them but not sure on the price yet. Thank you all for your kind messages and i hope this info has helped you get one step closr to making the perfect sonic lipstick replica. Keep your eyes on the QMX website as soon they are releasing metal replica sonic screwdrivers and if like me you already own 1 of 500 david tennant replica screwdrivers then youl be as excited as i am :) also they may soon release a sonic lipstick as me and a few others have emailed saying they should make them so send an email and who knows soon we could have a real replica direct from QMX :) .

They are being released soon there making them in their lab atm and they also say in future they may be plans to release a sonic lipstick replica.

Thanks everyone who's posted on this thread. I've got my Estee Lauder lipstick on the way. I'm going to try using an LED light up automotive valve cover as the emitter. modded to be on/off instead of motion controlled.

LED valve light

What are the best lights to use, if i wanted to make the light turn on when the lipstick is wound up. What metal tubing would you recamend for the emitter.
Thanks & Regards
