Just saw these pictures on the net.

Bunch of spoiled man-children. Just like this forum and all it's advertising/pay-per view, everything is becoming commercialized (thanks Disney) and bringing in the toy collectors who are used to having everything handed to them. Yeah, I've become another grumpy old man. And to the dude that said the 501st won't let you in because you have 4 buttons on your belt instead of two, thanks for the laugh.

Wait... I don't get it. You're mad that someone is producing a good quality licensed armor kit?

Because Lucasfilm never commercialized Star Wars???

Nope! Oh wait..... sorry. Yeah. ;)

T5H, thanks for posting the comparison pics. Really does show how well it stands up to the others sitting next to an RS. There are differences but to the everyday
stormtrooper lover out there I doubt these details matter (unless you are going for complete screen accuracy "RS") as it's a very decent helmet for the cost compared to the more accurate helmets. Now to see a fully assembled armor kit put together.

Oh man, someone who went to a liscensors screening in '99 gave me their loot bag that had one of those horrible jar-jar tongue candies. You realize at least TWO people, the designer and someone at LFL, had to have looked at that thing and said "yeah, kids french-kissing a rabbit-frog thig to suck out his sweet, sweet candy - that's totally a thing we should do.".

Just got mine today. WOW! I would have paid $600 for this! But I got it for $300 and just WOW! I have a old set of FX (2000 model) for sale now :)

My kit arrived today and I couldn't be happier. In my opinion, I think this kit is an exceptional value. I noticed that someone said that the plastic film wasn't present on the parts but mine most definitely has it. Sure there are some accuracy issues, but for me, I don't see them as being "wrong", I see them as being "different". I usually make all of my props to my own liking with a combination of accuracy and idealization and for me, this kit fits the bill.

Got home to a fedex sticker. I created a fedex account expressly to deal with this delivery... no tracking number had ever been sent, but now I have a Door Tag Number.
HOWEVER, shipper has required an IN-PERSON signature, and so I can't even sign for it virtually---the option is greyed out.

So it looks like I'm going to have a captive "waiting for the cable guy" morning tomorrow.

Has any one brought up the fact that all of the "original" suits are re-casts off of parts found throughout years and not even from the molds used for the film? I find it silly that wonky re-casts are being compared to digitally scanned off of a screen used set. Now if RS or TE offered a full set with compleated bucket, belt, holster, gloves, undersuite and neckseal for say $700 I could see that as a great deal. But $1200+ for a bare bones kit??? Yeah, not every one has cash to burn and are on a budget.

Now, there's nothing wrong with the above mentioned suits considering how hard it was to get a full suit pieced together over the years. . I remember back when the only suits were Marco Enterprises... and at that time, hot Damn! Was it any where near accurate? Nope but we did not care cause some one had a set. My first TK armor was a GF that I bought back in 98 and I loved it. Not a recast and not 100% but I had a TK. I bought it for something like $600 and was happy. I simply do not have the $1200+ for a TK.

Now we have Anovos, who has the best "licenced" suit for an amazing price considering what it comes with. Is it 100% prop accurate? Nope but for me, and I'm speaking just for me on this, I love that it's as we "think" we see it on screen and not the real prop look. Some love the real prop look and
that's fine but not for most.

Now when I say most, i'm talking about the rest of the world who are not RPF, 501st, or other hard core group. That's a lot of people. So if you want to sell a "replica" costume to the masses, you clean it up a little while retaining the charm of the original.

That's my 2 cents

It looks like the RS helmet is larger than the new Anovos helmet , just like my Universal Armorer helmet is. See my post in #1115. What do you more "studied" fellows have to say about the size issue?

The same with your FX Friski?

It seems slightly larger, but by no means as big as yours - that's a big, however good looking, bucket you've got there. I like the sound of your armor being thicker and heavier, and am starting to think beefing up the backside of the Anovos suit might be on my to-do when it finally arrives.'
