Seems a bit much, but I wonder if the original is like that and the lighting on the set makes it look less obvious.

Yes, it will come off – but it is very risky. I was willing to risk it because I knew I could fix it worst-case scenario, and I'm not selling the helmet.
But there are no guarantees it wont pull off the chrome, even if you're quick. Also, the acetone will start to cloud the chrome before it comes off, so that changes the look. Use your best judgement, and proceed at your own risk.
Looks like lens distortion from being too close to the helmet when taking the picture.
That is amazing. They look so different. The second later one that you yourself posted looks so different and better. Good to know. I was worried.

What is your overall opinion of the Anovos helmet?
Intersting point. I doubt we'll ever know which is which on the show, but it stands to reason they would have one or two for the expensive star, that ONLY he wears, then several for stand ins and stunt doubles. In a show like this, where you never see the face, I would assume the stand ins and stunt doubles get a ton of screen time, if not most of it. Considering that you can probably get a whole team of stand ins for the price of an hour of the star's time, and no one will know the difference.

it's basically the same as the other Anovos's fiberglass helmets (I don't know if you have handled any of their helmets). Construction seems pretty good. It has 2 different lens, one attached to the fiberglass under the liner (kinda purplelish color) and a second one (smoke) velcro'ed to the liner and it's removable. The color is actually darker in person than what is looks in the pictures. The weathering, depending on the lighting, looks a bit too much, sometimes it looks fine, it's kinda hard to explain. It is smaller than the boba fett helmet and the shape it's completely different, so for those people making the mandalorian helmet based on the boba fett helmet are inaccurate. the shape is kinda oval if you look at it from the top. I'm please with it. I would like to see how it compares to the eFx one.

Glad it worked out for you. I wonder why on the helmet I had acetone wouldnt eat the chrome when I was Trying to strip it? New batch of helmets, new formulas maybe.

I used flat black acrylic paint. Tamiya. That way I could remove it easily if I wanted.
Thanks! Yeah, could be different materials. Happy it worked out though.
Much prefer the weathering in this pic than your previous one. Turn off the incandescent light, and voila - the color of the weathering changes. Shoulda guessed the lighting would make all the difference. LOL
