ANOVOS issues (ANOVOS ONLY discussion)

Glad people got this new mask but....we are calling progress the act of not only NOT shipping old orders first but generating a new product, producing it, and shipping it BEFORE old orders get shipped out.

That isn't progress - it is added insult.
I don’t think there’s really any other way to put it other than Anovos clearly dug themselves a hole deep enough that they couldn’t dig themselves out of without somehow getting more money in.
The endless ******** pre-order scheme failed in the long run, not that it wont undoubtedly resurface again, and they simply can not fulfill their backlog on their own with what little remains of the mismanaged funds they had for production. The only option left to them is to produce and actually deliver new product in order to bring money into the system so that the log jam can slowly break up.
It’s garbage business practice and should reflect pretty badly on the owners of Anovos, but what other option is there now that things are what they are. So as completely sucky as it is, you cant really be mad at them when the only other option is scuttling the ship
The real question is, are they actually trying to get the ship up and running again, or are they simply trying to let the whole thing sink in shallower water

mmm, still pretty mad at them. And of course what you write is the case. But if a genie told me that all of us would be made whole this week except that these Anovos guys would also have ruined futures and families I'd press that button in a second.

I have an update re: my Kylo helmet with the squiggly lines (which I fixed myself) – I had emailed them right after I received it and complained about the quality. Never heard a peep... until two days ago. They apologized (!) and said it must have been a "prototype or something from pre-production." They offered to have me return it and send me out a new one.

Now, it took over two years to receive this one, so I don't think there's any way in hell I'll trust sending it back. Just thought it was interesting news. They also told me they'd have a return label to me ASAP – still waiting for that, and I doubt I'll actually hear back regarding that or the questions I asked them.

As fate would have it, my invoice number was called for the Mandalorian helmet just now as well. Ha! So now I have to decide if I'm going to put my hand back on the stove and pull the trigger on that one. Someone stop me and tell me I'm crazy. I'm crazy right? RIGHT?!

Get the efx one it looks way better

As much as I like his helmet, and do want one, it’s not screen accurate as it’s based on the restructuring, or looks like it anyway, of a Boba helmet. There have been a couple of video comparisons of the two.

That doesn't seem right at all. Where are these videos? It can't be considered inaccurate based solely on conjecture.

I have the Anovos helmet, and I’ve seen videos and pictures of the bobamaker helmet and the shape it’s based on a boba Fett helmet.
 
I still don't fully understand why Anovos took such a nose dive with their customer service. I have spent somewhere around 3K, bought directly from them over the years. The Han TFA jacket fiasco really axed any chances I had of ever ordering from them again. Luckily I finally received it after almost a 3 year wait.
 
One of the reasons I stopped actually making props for folks over ten years ago is that I learned what it takes to do it right. To simplify, take your most responsibly estimated time and materials and, as a rule, triple both - you will be shocked at how you use up all of the time to make a quality product.

How eFuX and Anogos haven't figured this out is baffling to me.

Every damn single time these companies move out the shipment date - EVERY TIME - someone at the company acts surprised about some unforeseen setback.

It's as if with each item they are starting with a memory wipe.

If you try to do anything quickly to "meet demand" or whatever B.S., you will always and only increase the wait time. For example, paint a surface in some cases where the primer is not 1000000% cured and you will have paint cracks that will either need to be sanded out for a repaint or cast up another part: an instantaneous 2 week setback.

So, FastballSpecial, how is the jacket - do you care or not care still...

Somebody did a side-by-side somewhere (on FB maybe?) with the Anovos and the Bobamaker Mando bucks. The differences are pretty glaring when placed next to each other. It's a great helmet and a fantastic option for those wanting to build the buck or costume and not wanting to either spend eFX/Anovos price or possibly wait until the sun explodes, but much like every other fan made helmet lacking in lineage to it, it has its real issues when up against the real deal

And yeah, according to their "blog," there are 28 separate Star Wars items slated for "Q1 2020."

God I hate this.

Sure...but it it was all also supposed to ship in Q3/4 of 2019 as well. Seems like when they know they won't make the current quarter, they just say it'll be the next one but have no clue at all how long it should all take.
 
Big Bad Toy Store (BBTS) rules. Although it was frustrating getting my amazing EFX Boba Helmet later than others it arrived double boxed as always and is perfect.

Sadly some Mando helmets are showing up with paint that is way too dark, scratches on visors, etc. I emailed BBTS and let them know and as a result I wanted to cancel my Anovos Mando helmet. I told them a refund is fine, or apply toward one of my many pre-orders, or store credit was fine as that is easy to spend there:)

Within one hour I had an email back saying they applied the down payment to a store credit in my account and cancelled the Anovos Mando helmet. He said they had received other similar complaints about the Mando helmet but he was happy to hear how much I loved the EFX Boba. He said he hopes and thinks they will have the EFX Mando helmet for pre-order soon but I did not want to take any chances so I ordered it on payments from Chronicle Collectibles.

Ironically I did not even want the stinking Mando series. I wanted a Boba series and now, ofcourse, I can't get enough Mando. Helmet, Baby Yoda knob, Blaster, Baby Yoda bag and strap, Beskar bar, Pendent, 1/6 IG-11 1st version 1/6 Mando, ...oh my. Ofcourse I will have to get that cute little 1/1 bugger at some point as well.

Meh... doesn’t mean much imo. The Jetpack kits were slated for Q3/4 2019 as well but are now Q3/4 2020 if it ever comes... (ironically these kits were originally supposed to be one of Anovos’s new “fast produced” kits “no more delays!”) lol

I truly don’t mean to sound so cynical about the whole situation. I really do hope Anovos somehow pulls it together. I’m not even really mad at them if I’m being honest. I’m more mad at myself more than anything at this point. They showed me who they were before I ever pre-ordered my stuff. I knew about some items being years in delay and incredibly slow delivery on what ones were actually making it to people. But at the time they looked like they were doing a turnaround much like they are now and actually had a plan to get everything flowing again. And I said to myself “yeah, its probably a financial risk... but I REALLY love the look of this kit and its lineage. I get running a business can be tough, and overseas production a absolute bitch at times... and that the owners are/were genuinely good dudes who just wanted to help bring the best possible to communities like this. So what the hey, lets give it a chance”...

And here we are today
So yeah, I cant really be mad...
disappointed as hell I placed my trust in their promises, sure... the misleading email replies about how “oh they’re on track for delivery this fall” year after year being extra nice on the honesty front...
But honestly what can any of us do at this point other than hang on for the ride?
