ANOVOS issues (ANOVOS ONLY discussion)

For those of you taking this ride, make sure you have plenty of lube because Anoshow is gonna put you away wet.

I email them weekly to force my refund, but good ol Charlie is on the ball, reminding me that it can take 8 to 12 weeks to process.

8 to 12 weeks. In this , the glorious digital age.

Well, Chuck, its been 19 weeks to the day since my request. By your own standard you are way overdue.

56 weeks since I requested refunds.

BUT I did get a shipping notice for the Kylo Ren helmet yesterday after I reminded them I had paid for it and never received it or a refund.

I guess that means 8 items left to wait for.

I got my Mandalorian helmet. I'm pretty impressed by the helmet but the biggest issues are the decals for me. Now, this might be a licensing issue because the eFx confirmed by Chronicle are painted on.

If I keep the Anovos helmet over the eFx (I like the fact it was made in the good ol' USA) I'll have the ears decals replaced with paint.

When did you order and when did you invoice? Any pics?

Some pics and thoughts about the anovos mandalorian helmet:
The ears do have a weird gap for some reason. I couldn’t tell how they’re attached, but from the inside it’s all fiberglass so it’s possible they were glued on.

Made in the USA, I really like that, but also means there’s room for human error. There are some dust spots on the helmet that Im trying to resist scratching off(lol), but the helmet is really nicely made overall.

One thing I noticed when I peeled back the padding was the out visor looks to be held on by hot glue. This doesn’t affect the integrity of the mandibles at all as the mandibles seem pretty sturdy.
The second internal visor can be removed as it’s attached via Velcro. It also comes with detachable padding that you can place inside for a snug fit.

Not keen on the weathering as it looks a bit much like rust but the paint job overall is really nice, with a nice, thick clear coat over it.

Hmm. Interesting.
Thanks for sharing the pics, this is helpful.

I received my Mandolorian helmet too. Overall its pretty nice. I am sure some out there can do better finishes etc. But for a mass produced helmet its pretty well done. My complaint I felt like they could have shipped it a little more protected, not that I didn't mind the smaller box but man it didn't even have peanuts around it or anything just some foam on the top and bottom of the box....I wouldn't think that would have been a much more difficult step.

Unfortunately, that seems to be the norm for them lately. People who have recently received the STD Phaser have reported that it is in a very small box with not much protection, compared to the box that the first wave was in, and some of them have been damaged in shipping. Their QC is also questionable as some have fitment and finish problems along with things just not working. I'm still waiting to get mine and don't know if I'm just going to end up with something very expensive that sits on a self never to be touched again or what.

That helmet (to me) looks really bad. The weathering and the high gloss looks nothing like the screen used helmet. For that much money I’d rather do without.

Hey - looking for that link to the proceedings of the court case against Disney/ LFL/ Anogos. I might find it later but it anyone here has it ready can you post again? Thanks much. Curious the latest.

That looks horrible!!! way too much clearcoat looks poorly casted fiberglass doesn't have those sharp clean edges machined metal look finish,
super easy helmet to mass produce with super simplified paint job with obvious sponge/cloth dabbing weathering, anybody can do better in their garage, not worth more than $250.

I’ll be honest that I’m not too invested in this character or piece, but tbh I think the physical helmet cast itself looks fine, save for the wonky ears. Looking at the photos above I think its just the obnoxious amount of clear coat they have on it that’s really messing it up and making the edges appear softer.
Im sure someone here could even offer replacement ears for them if people dont mind messing with their licensed bucket

This is interesting...it seems there are pretty extreme variances in their quality control. Take a look at the photos of my Anovos Mando lid that I received at the beginning of January (post #7,204) - there is substantially more clear coat on yours (I even question if they put any on mine - if so, it certainly isn't high gloss). Also, the vent on the back of yours appears much cleaner and crisper than mine.
