ANOVOS issues (ANOVOS ONLY discussion)

MJF, for what it's worth, I get your point.
But sci-fi fans are so used to the 'startup operation' concept of money first and product someday down the line, I, too, wanna bang my head against a wall for how much the fans now are willing to put up with.
Bottom line for professional prop copy companies? Shoulder the costs, make the product, then I'll buy. That's how it works for everyone else.
Otherwise, pass.

If you don't get something because you don't pre-order. Not our problem and stop complaining since you don't preorder.

I will complain about bad business practices whether I have money involved or not and if you don't like it NOT MY PROBLEM.

Anovos is not behaving like a good company. If there are delays they need to explain. Saying stuff is getting packed and going out the door and months later nothing is not acceptable. If you don't think people should complain about that regardless of whether or not they have ordered tough luck for you. Then you tell people they new what they were getting so stop complaining or cancel. Bull.

Here is an idea. If you don't want to see people complaining about Anovos' bad business practices, that are looking more and more like EFX, then don't read this thread because I and others will complain until they start behaving well.

If you don't like it,..bugger off.

I love the British.

Tom

P.S. Have a nice day.

I know, I know you are gonna respond bla, bla, blabbidy bla, and now that you mention that you are right. I did not think about that. I agree

There gets to be a point where your pre-order ceases to be "saving your place in line" and becomes a straight up business loan. IIRC, the Han belt was "packed and ready to ship" back in May. That's seven months that a "finished" product has been sitting there! If they're finished as they said, they need to tell their customers why they haven't shipped yet. If they're not finished, they need to explain why they said they were finished in the first place, and when they estimate that they'll really be finished and shipped out.

As much as this business is a waiting game, there is no licensee hold-up that prevents them from sending an email to update people on another month of waiting. No factory cost-cutting stops them from saying it'll be another two months as they track down another manufacturer. No switch in materials or engineering, no newly discovered detail or issue with their prototypes keeps them from having their customers in the loop.

There are a million reasons why people should be told these things. Their business model demands it. Their beginning as fans demands it. The massive amounts of money and waiting involved demands it. And on top of that, their customers being kept in the loop on such minutiae is a part of what was purchased. That was a piece of the arrangement, and no ideological differences between the people patiently waiting and the people demanding updates can change the simple fact that silence on their part is an immediate breach of the terms of all of these orders.

Full disclosure: I don't have any Star Wars items on order from them, Star Trek is more my style, and the quality of their Trek costumes has been absolutely stellar. They know what they're doing when it comes to creating amazing replicas, but my fear in how they've been handling the multitude of valid concerns about them is that it displays internal uncertainty over their current situation.

Good lord this thread is a disaster. It's like kids bickering about which one of them is better at Call of Duty.

1v1 me bro! I'll kick your ass in COD!!11!

Just not going to touch on anything said in the last few pages, but I am curious about the FO helmets. I planned on ordering one and giving Anovos that very last chance... (I've already canceled two preorders due to the ridiculous wait) and looking very forward to seeing the quality of these pieces. Them shipping does give me a little more courage about ordering.

For those who ordered and got shipping confirmation, I'd really appreciate it if you could snap some pics and do a nice little write up when it arrives. Be honest! Good or bad, I'm sure all of us want to know!

Irrelevant as my point was if something DID happen to Anovos their could be quite a few people left holding the bag as what HAD happened at Icons.

Same with Efx.

I want them to succeed but the pre-order or as some see it Ponzi scheme when stretched to far gives me the willies.

Icons didn't fold because they were taking preorders. They folded because of bad business practices.

You're blowing this out of proportion then. You have no reason to throw around accusations of extortion and you're conflating many complicated issues into this panic.

C'mon man talk about blowing things out of proportion

I don't see any "Panic" in this thread just people concerned with how Anovos is conducting their business.

Okay, I guess calling pre-ordering a ponzi scheme and acting like Anovos will never deliver isn't blowing things out of proportion. Good point.

Never ONCE said Anovos would not deliver or called Pre-order a ponzi scheme but nice try at twisting my words around! :thumbsup

I see here a suggestion that Anovos could leave its customers empty-handed followed by an accusation that pre-orders are ponzi schemes. You are in fact the only person here who has called them that. Twisting words? Nice try at back-pedaling.

Wrong again Rabbit! :lol

Keep on trying though you are starting to get my posts correct!

Whatever man. You clearly don't even understand what you are saying. By the way, condescend all you want, but check those typos first. ;)
