Anigrand Star Destroyer build one for FuseNova and one for glen3631

Robiwon, That is exactly what I got.

I thought I would show both models at once and also include my work space.

LOTR fan? How about some more pics of your collection? Maybe in a different thread though?

Yes, I am a LOTR fan.

I also love Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Rocketeer, and who doesn't love Captain Jack!
I am a huge movie fan. These listed here are only a few of the many films that I love.

I am also a lover of sound hence my screen name.
dtssyst = DTS System = Digital Theater Sound System

The rest of my collectibles are packed away. Mostly little nick nacks. These premium format statues are the pride and joy of my collection. Hence as to why they are on display.
The in person autograph collection are also a pride and joy of my collection. Some of them you see it the photo above my desk...except Scotty, it is signed but not signed in front of me.

Fusenova's ship:
The main bridge is almost finished. The fiber optic has been installed and the glue is drying. I added more windows as I noticed that some were missed on the first pass.
Yup, there are red windows AND the windows will be lit with warm white led's.
Sorry that there are no pictures as the wife currently is out and has the camera.

Update 5.3.11
I got the camera back. I held up the bridge to my desk light as the led's are not wired yet. The fiber ends will be trimed once the model is painted.

glen3631's ship:
The hull parts are almost ready to be glued together to make the upper hull and lower hull halves. Other than that, clean up of the other parts is still in progress.

Fusenova:
The neck and the bridge are finished.
The rear engine area is installed/glued to the bottom hull (the engines themselves are not installed...yet)

All parts that have been prepared have been temporarily put together for a test fit. So far so good.

glen3631:
I will hopefully make some good progress on your kit this Saturday. Hopefully an update with photos will come soon thereafter.

FuseNova,
The armature that you shipped has arrived. It looks fantastic and it also looks like a perfect fit. The person who made it did a great job. The attached photo shows the armature just resting on top of the bottom hull.

Glen3631,
I am covered from head to toe in resin dust...literally!
An update on your kit will be up by the end of the weekend if not sooner.

Whewww - glad the armature worked since we did this via phone and email! A not so good picture of the armature and base below. The idea is to add a piano black base with mirror top giving the illusion of floating.

FuseNova,
I too am glad. I can't wait to see it all come together.

Glen3631,
The hulls of your ship are coming together.

Last post for the night as I need to go and get ready. We are going out to see the movie Thor and I can't wait!

The lighting ports for the main hanger on each kit is finished. This was done a lot differently than dlbsyst kit.
I used a ruler to measure and then drew a pencil line as a guide to follow.
A dremel cut off disc was used to cut a groove (along the pencil line). The light from the window helped to see how close I was to cutting through to the other side. Also to see how accurate the cut is.
Then I cut an angle into the groove to assist in allowing more light getting into the groove.
I hope that all makes sense :confused

I like your mod to the hanger bay for lights. I did mine with fiber optics. But, I think I'm going to steal your mod. Mines not glued in yet so it will be easy to do.

Did I already ask if your doing the spot lights in the trenches on this one?

Robiwon,
These will have trench spot lights as well. In my opinion, this is a must.

I would not have posted 'my mod' if I did not want anyone else to try it. Someone else may have an even better way to do it. If they do, I invite them to please share their knowledge.

clancampbell,
Thanks and I agree 100%.

Hello I follow this thread with a real pleasure, but does anyone have the assembly instructions for this kit? I have 1 anigrand star destroyer but unfortunately without instruction.

Thank you in advance !

I'm not sure if I still have mine or not. There wasn't much there to begin with. It was just a one sheet piece of paper. Stand by or I'm sure someone else will chime in.

Time for an update.
Sorry it did not come sooner. I was sick all last week and did not get a lot done. I feel better but I am not back to 'normal'.

Almost every part that gets fiber optic windows is drilled and prepped to have the fiber optic fibers installed. I do not know the window count but it is a lot more than the first build I did of this kit.

The first attached photo shows a part that is not 100% done but it is 100% done with fiber optic strands installed. There are over 300 windows on this part alone.

The armature and lower hull are being prepped to go together. I need to run some fiber optics first. This is so the armature is not in the way of me trying to thread the fibers.

The Main hangar bay is installed into the lower hull waiting to be lit.

I wanted to try something a little different with the spotlights...

The second attached photo shows a 1mm SIDELED. In case you don't see it, an arrow is pointing to it. The 9v battery is there to give you an idea of just how small this little bugger is. I had to use tweasers just to hold it while I soldered it!

The third attached photo shows a temporary mock up of what I am going to try to do with that little LED.

Hopefully there will be more progress to show later this week.
